BLISS stands for Bagong Lipunan Indigent Sheltering System. The 50 residential houses here was built through the effort of former First Lady Imelda Marcos. BLISS Manubuan according to the elders was formerly a cemetery of MANOBOS (thus named Manubuan), it was reclaimed from a small lake.The village was being surrounded by water then fields of rice, sugar and other crops. The residents of BLISS VILLAGE is a mixture of different tribes (which also meant a mixture of values and cultures from all over philippines) but overwhelmingly peace, understanding, good camaraderie arise within the neighborhood. As a little girl, I had witnessed how my family and neighbor exchange viands, shared little preparations during gatherings, learned the different dialects. People here knows each other so much that entrance of strangers is very noticeable among residents.
