Ngayong TEACHER ka na,
Naiintindihan mo na kung bakit masungit si Miss Minchin.
There were many times when I felt chosen over others, and other times when I felt completely overlooked. When that feeling crept in, I’d remind myself that it would pass. I’d tell myself that these people were only passing through my life, whether or not they saw me as worth their time. All I could do was show up and do my best, and I tried to believe that was enough.
I’d get frustrated with them for being irresponsible, for always waiting until the last minute. I’d scowl, sometimes quietly, sometimes not. But deep down, I’d melt when they handed in something that surprised me, a work that went far beyond what I ever expected.
