June 12, 2025 - The Philippines marked its 127th Independence Day today with nationwide celebrations, commemorating the country’s declaration of freedom from Spanish colonial rule in 1898.

The theme of this year’s celebration, “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.” (Freedom. Future. History.), highlighted the importance of remembering the past while forging a better future for all Filipinos.

Across the country, local governments held parades, flag-raising ceremonies, and cultural presentations. Many Filipinos, dressed in traditional barong and Filipiniana attire, joined the festivities. Schools and historical institutions also conducted educational programs and exhibitions.

Philippine Independence Day is a national holiday, observed every June 12, honoring the proclamation of independence in Kawit, Cavite by General Emilio Aguinaldo.

Despite occasional rain in some areas, the spirit of celebration remained strong, reflecting the enduring pride of the Filipino people in their hard-won freedom.

April 30, 2025 — In a solemn and spirit-filled celebration, the Grade 6 pupils, some high school, and college students of St. Louis College received the Sacrament of Confirmation at the Transfiguration of our Lord Chapel .

The sacred rite was conferred by His Excellency, Most Rev. Daniel O. Presto, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of San Fernando, La Union. The bishop was assisted by Fr. Ken, who joined in the celebration and extended his blessings to the confirmands and their families.

The ceremony was marked by reverence and joy, as students, renewed their baptismal promises and received the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Faculty, parents, and school administrators witnessed the milestone event, which affirmed the students’ deeper commitment to their faith.

This annual celebration reflects St. Louis College’s continuing mission to form its students not only academically but also spiritually, nurturing them as responsible and faith-filled members of the Church.

The program offers a 16 session music class in your choice of piano, organ, voice, ukelele, guitar, recorder, flute, saxophone, trumpet and wind instruments. It is open to aspiring Louisian and Non-Louisian ages five (6) years old and above with 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗙𝗘𝗘.

Forms are available at the Center for Culture, the Art and Heritage Office — Bp. Wenceslao Padilla-Old Elementary Building, SLC-CSFLU. Furthermore, payments will be at the Senior High School Cashier Office - just look for Mrs. Rufina B. Baguidudol.

Join us for our 16-session Summer Dance Workshop and explore your passion in any of the following genres:
