The newest member of the Cebu football community--Copa Cebu 2025--kicks off its inaugural three-day edition today at the Dynamic Herb-Borromeo Sports Complex.
The tournament, which will last until Sunday, will have competitions int he age group as well as the men's and women's open and the 38-above division. It will also bring back the novel Soccer Mom division.
However, unlike the other football festivals, the champions in the U9, U11 and U13 divisions will receive free entries to the Philippines Cup later this year.
The teams that have signed up for the U9 divisions are favorites Makati FC Cebu, CFC Academy, Ateneo Magis Eagles, and the Ateneo Lux Oriens. The other teams that signed up are the Arayat Athletics Academy, Minglanilla booters Fc, Real Galaxy, SB Ilawod FC and Sugbu Calidad.
For the U11, the teams are (Group A), CFC Academy, Kaya FC Academy, Brassfield FC, (Group B), Arayat Athletic Academy, Danao City FC, SHS-Ateneo de Cebu, (Group C), SB Ilawod FC, Kaya FC, Razkals United, and Real Galaxy and (Group D), Giuseppe FC, Bato Spartan, Makati FC and Ilawod Next Gen.
In the U13, the teams are ADA Cebu, Arayat Athletic Academy, Makat FC Cebu, and Brassfield FC in Group A, Cebu United FC, Solidus FC, Sugbu Calidad, and CFC Academy in Group B, St. Theresa's College, Alicia Football Club, Real Galaxy and USC-BED in Group C and Giuseppe FC, Tabor Hill College, Sb Ilawod FC and Corona del mar FC in Group D.
