Central Philippine State University-Moises Padilla Campus Honors Mentors on Teachers' Day Celebration
The Central Philippines State University โ Moises Padilla Campus (CPSU-MPC) joyfully celebrated Teachers' Day with a heartfelt ceremony that paid tribute to the dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment of its educators to shaping and nurturing the minds of students. The celebration began with an invocation led by the CPSU Chorale. To formally open the program, Dr. Rosemie G. Gequillana, administrator of CPSU-MPC, delivered opening remarks. She warmly commended the organizers and individuals behind the success of the celebration, emphasizing the deeper meaning of the occasion.
"This is not just a Teachers' Day celebration, but a celebration of a calling that builds minds and inspires dreams," she expressed. Dr. Gequillana also highlighted the nobility of the teaching profession and the deep appreciation that CPSU-MPC shares towards its educators. "Teaching is never easy, but your passion and dedication make it a noble and life-changing mission. You are our mentors, motivators, and modern-day heroes. Our teachers are our modern-day heroes. May this celebration remind you how deeply you are appreciated not just by your students but by the entire CPSU-MPC family." Her remarks were accompanied by heartfelt greetings to all teachers, recognizing their vital role in shaping the future.
The event continued with an entertaining folk dance performance entitled "The Colonizer," presented by the Folk Dance Group of CPSU-MPC during the 79th Pasundayag kag Pabalhas sa CPSU Foundation Week, showcasing the richness of culture and talent among CPSU students. Following the performance was the introduction of the guest speaker, Mrs. Analiza Villamor Cezar, LPT, who shared an inspiring message filled with gratitude and reflection. She expressed appreciation for all the mentors who guided her during her college years and ended her speech with a touching message of thanks to every teacher who continues to mold and nurture students with compassion and dedication.
A Certificate of Appreciation and a token of gratitude were then presented to Mrs. Cezar in recognition of her meaningful contribution to the event. The program continued with another remarkable contemporary dance performance, filling the venue with energy and creativity. One of the highlights of the celebration was the distribution of gifts to all teachers and staff of CPSU Moises Padilla Campus, led by the Supreme Student Government (SSG) officers together with the students. The gesture symbolized the students' deep appreciation for their mentors' sacrifices and hard work.
Furthermore, representatives from different student organizationsโBSAB, BEED, IT Department, FLP, and SSGโdelivered heartfelt messages of gratitude to all teachers and staff. Their words served as a reminder of the influence of teachers in the lives of their students and society. A video presentation prepared by The Cenphilians School Publication followed, paying tribute to the mentors featuring famous pick-up lines from the teachers, as shared by the students interviewed.
Finally, the morning part of the event concluded with closing remarks by the OSSA Coordinator, Dr. Jose Edmund P. Odencio, who greeted his fellow educators a happy Teachers' Day. He also delivered a message about the dedication of teachers in teaching, inspiring students to continue and finish their studies. "The dreams begin most of the time with a teacher who believes in you," he emphasized. He noted that teaching is not just about lectures but the art of assisting discovery. He commended the efforts of the College of Teacher Education for spearheading the event and recognized the contributions of the SSG Officers, FLP Officers, and all other departments that cooperated.
The morning event wrapped up with a well-deserved lunch break, featuring traditional filipino cuisine prepared by each department of CPSU-MPC.
