Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur’s very own Coff & Ciggs makes their debut with Gambler and the Sea, a seven-track EP that explores chance, loss, and the pull of the unknown. The record captures the quiet struggle between control and surrender, like tossing a coin into the tide and waiting to see where it lands.

Recorded entirely DIY in a basement and improvised spaces, the EP reflects the band’s raw and honest approach to music-making. It moves between post-rock textures, folk-inspired melodies, and spoken-word moments that feel deeply personal and grounded.

Gambler and the Sea speaks of persistence and acceptance, of learning when to hold on and when to drift. It’s reflective of the growing independent scene across the Zamboanga Peninsula, where musicians continue to create without waiting for perfect conditions.
