๐ ๐๐ก๐ง๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ง๐ I World Su***de Prevention Day
Millions of people wake up every day fighting battles that remains unseen by the world around them. Someone may appear vibrant and optimistic on the outside, but they may be despondent and covered by the shadow of hopelessness on the inside. Suicidal thoughts are real and they climg like shadow that refuses to let goโsilent, heavy, and persistent.
The alarming rate of su***de increases each year. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), su***de is the third leading cause of death among 15-29 year olds, resulting in over 727,000 individuals taking their own lives annually. This global statistic is not just a number, these are peopleโreal humanm beings who were once someoneโs son, daughter, sibling, partner, or friend who single-handedly carried silent battles. Hence, it reveals that su***de has no boundaries; It affects people of all ages, genders, and those with or without mental illness.
Every year on this day, the world comes to a halt to spread hope and awareness about the silent epdimicโthe su***de. World Su***de Prevention Day is not just another date on a calendar or a day of mourning, but also a day for education. Additionally, let us not only spread awareness during this month, but carry it with us in our everyday lives, By consistently talking about mental health, we keep the light of hope alive long after the observance has passed.
This issue is not just a concern for health professionals and organizations; it demands the attention of everyone. We must recognize and confront the reality that thousands of individuals are enduring significant mental health challenges, and it is imperative that we address this matter head-on. We need people to talk about this for us to be able to save lives.
Some claims that discussig su***de makes individuals consider it and ultimately commit themselves. It is not just necessary, but imperative, to lessen that stigma.
Awareness is just the first step, but it is not enough on its own. true change happens when awareness turns into actionsโlistening without judgement, offering support, encouraging professional help, and sharing resources such as support groups. Even the simplest two-word question โKamusta ka?โ can be a powerful lifeline.
Letโs hold hands and walk through the life that awaits us. No one should fight their shadows alone, and by walking side by side, we remind each other that hope is realโit has always been present, even when weโre covered by darkness.
