‼️‼️ WARNING!! GRAPHIC POST AHEAD ‼️‼️

The photos you're about to see are pages written by our 7-year-old daughter shortly after she survived the fire that trapped our family inside our condominium.

As parents, reading her words broke our hearts.
While adults try to process trauma by asking questions and searching for answers, children often process it differently. They write about it. They draw it. They relive it. They carry it with them.

After escaping the fire and arriving safely in Laguna, our daughter began writing down everything she remembered from that terrifying day. Every fear. Every moment. Every memory that no child should ever have to experience.

Reading her account made us realize that while our physical wounds will eventually heal, the emotional scars left on our children may take much longer.

On the day of the fire, my wife, our 7-year-old daughter, our 2-year-old son, and I were trapped inside our unit on the 19th floor as thick black smoke filled the building.

When we first saw smoke near the elevators, we rushed to gather essential belongings and prepare to evacuate. But within minutes, the smoke became so thick that escaping through the hallways was no longer possible. When I opened our door again, our home was already filled with black smoke.

With our children struggling to breathe, I covered the doors with wet towels and broke the windows to create ventilation. In doing so, I severely injured my leg and later required stitches. For nearly an hour, we waited and prayed that help would arrive before it was too late.

Thankfully, we were rescued.
But the nightmare did not end there.
Our daughter's beloved dog did not survive. My parrot did not survive. Our two sugar gliders survived but lost their eyesight due to the smoke.

To this day, our daughter still cries whenever she remembers her dog.
We are grateful to be alive, but we are also grieving. We are grieving the loss of our pets, our home, our sense of security, and the innocence that was taken from our children that day.

Today, we remain displaced from our home and are incredibly thankful to my wife's cousin for giving us a place to stay while we try to rebuild our lives.

We still have many unanswered questions. We still do not know the full truth about what happened. We still do not know what support will be provided to affected families, those who lost their belongings, those who were injured, those who lost their pets, and those who continue to suffer emotionally from this tragedy.

We are sharing our story not only for our family but for every resident affected, for those still recovering in the ICU, and for every family trying to heal from an experience that changed their lives forever.
Most of all, we are sharing this because our daughter's words deserve to be heard.
