Ito ay bilang na lumabas mula sa isang prosesong itinatag at kinilala ng batas ng Republika ng Pilipinas.

Ito ang bilang ng mga pilipinong naghain ng kaso na kinilalang katanggap-tanggap para sa kaukulang danyos dulot ng paglabag sa karapatang pantao noong panahon ng diktadura ni Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

Ito'y bunga ng prosesong itinatag sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 10368, o Human Rights Victims Reparation and Recognition Act of 2013.

Hindi rin nangangahulugan na ang numerong ito ang eksaktong bilang ng mga buhay na nasugatan, nagdusa, at naapektuhan noong panahon ng Batas Militar. Ngunit isa ang ating matitiyak—na sa panahong ito, natapakan ang karapatang pantao at dumanak ang dugo sa historya ng mga Pilipino.

Sa ika-54 na taon ng paggunita sa diktadura ni Marcos, hindi lamang natin binibilang ang mga numero—inaalala natin ang mga buhay na nagdusa, mga taong nawala, at karahasang hindi naisiwalat sa madla.

Dahil ang kasaysayan ay hindi lamang tungkol sa mga petsa at estadistika.

𝗧𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗡 | Bayan Muna Youth Rizal, idinaan sa mud peformance ang panawagan kontra mapaminsalang proyekto

Sa halip na dugo ang gamitin para ilarawan ang madugong kabanata ng batas militar, putik ang ipinahid ng Bayan Muna Youth Rizal sa kanilang katawan sa performance protest sa Antipolo noong Setyembre 20, para ipapanawagan ang mga mapaminsalang proyekto sa lalawigan.

Bilang pambungad sa mismong araw ng ika-54 anibersayo ng martial law, idinaos ng hanay ang protesta para ilantad sa mga Rizaleño ang lagay ng mga komunidad na natabunan na sa kabi-kabilang quarrying operations, mapaminsalang land development, at kaugnay umanong pandarambong.

‎𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Youth groups stage mud performance protest over Rizal flooding, quarrying
‎
‎Youth groups led by Bayan Muna Youth Rizal are converging in Antipolo City today, September 20, for a mud performance protest ahead of tomorrow’s mobilization marking the 54th anniversary of Martial Law.
‎
‎The groups will use the protest to raise Rizal’s recurring flooding and landslides, which they attribute to continuing quarrying operations and other forms of environmental degradation in the province.
‎
‎The performance serves as a build-up to the September 21 "Bahain ng Protesta," where the groups are set to bring these issues to the streets alongside broader calls for accountability.
‎
‎Participants assemble at Victory Mall at 4 p.m. before marching toward Antipolo Cathedral, IMall, and Shopwise.
‎
‎The organizers are also calling on other youth groups, community members, and individuals to join the action.

𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 | Afternoon break set on Sept. 28 as Palace marks National Family Week

To give Filipino families time to observe the 34th National Family Week, the Office of the President ordered government agencies including state universities and colleges (SUCs) to suspend afternoon work starting 1:00 PM on September 28.

The order was issued through Memorandum Circular No. 136 on September 16 and covers agencies and instrumentalities of the national government, including government-owned and controlled corporations and state universities and colleges.

The half-day suspension aims to give Filipino families an opportunity to celebrate “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day, held every fourth Monday of September during National Family Week.

Agencies responsible for basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services will continue operations as necessary.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | USSG vacancies prompt emergency meeting among URS-Morong student leaders

As two filing periods failed to produce candidates for several University Supreme Student Government (USSG) positions, the Office of Student Development Services (OSDS) initiated an emergency meeting with campus organization leaders Tuesday, September 15.

The meeting brought together presidents, vice-presidents, and secretaries of mother organizations, sub-organizations, and institutional organizations, as well as Commission on Elections (COMELEC) officers and outgoing USSG President Kriste Danielle Añain, to address the remaining vacancies ahead of the student government election.
‎
It can be recalled that COMELEC announced the first window for the filing of candidacies from July 20 to August 6. After only eight candidates qualified from the screening on August 8, the application window once again opened on August 20-31, with still no front-runners for the presidential candidacy.
‎
‎Morong remains the only URS campus yet to elect its USSG officers.

During the meeting, five executive positions were disclosed to be vacant: president, general secretary, treasurer, auditor, and public relations officer. College councilor positions also remain unfilled, with five vacancies each in the College of Science, College of Engineering, and College of Industrial Technology, and two in the College of Education.

‎This prolonged vacancy has affected student organization operations, halting student organizations with university recognition and broader campus-wide activities requiring USSG approval.

In an opportunity to deliver his stance on the recurring challenge, Añain stressed the impact of having lesser students seeking posts. He recalled a similar situation during last year’s election where there were only six candidates, though the office demands for a size of 60 officers.

“Mahirap mag lead ng campus of 8,000 students with such a small team,” per Añain.

He acknowledged that the population of the campus indeed required a large student body to oversee its function.

To identify potential candidates, OSDS and COMELEC grouped the attendees according to their colleges and reviewed the qualification for vacant positions. OSDS representative Jonathan Luris also raised the possibility that sub-organization officers may need to step down from their current positions in order to qualify for USSG positions.

The recruitment effort eventually produced recommended candidates for the vacant positions, including an aspiring presidential candidate who stepped forward during the meeting.
‎
‎However, the candidate had only one year of experience as an executive officer, falling short of the two-year experience requirement stipulated in the USSG Constitution and By-Laws (CBL). With OSDS and COMELEC presiding, the meeting reached a quorum and approved the candidate’s qualification to proceed with the electoral process despite the existing requirement.
‎
‎In light of the agreed remedies, COMELEC and USSG will determine whether to hold a Miting de Avance or a proclamation rally after the final candidate pool is established.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | URS-Morong Campus launches Donation Drive to support community in need

To strengthen community ties and provide essential comfort to those facing difficulty, the University of Rizal System – Morong Campus is currently conducting its “URS Morong Donation Drive: Bayanihan para sa Kapwa” at its first location, Brgy. Lagundi Morong, Rizal, this morning, September 16, 2026.

Through the initiative of URS Morong Disaster Risk Reduction Management, URS Morong Extension Office, URS Morong Alumni, URS Morong NSTP, and URS ROTC, this community extension initiative aimed at providing essential goods and support for individuals and families in need.

The organizer encourages members of the university and community to contribute available sources in support of people facing difficulties and various needs.

Moreover, relief efforts will reach remote communities across Morong, Rizal, with distributions targeted for Sitio Pulo in Barangay Caniogan and Wawa in Barangay San Juan.

𝗧𝗟 𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗬 | When My Dog Died

As I was digging the grave of my sweet little dog, I was also digging a grave for my childhood—a remnant of a time when I didn't think of life as overly complicated, when there was simply life, and this world was entirely enough reason to stay.

The mini shovel was ready, her body lying on the cold soil where she would soon be underneath. My tears touched the ground, and they made it soft—maybe it was so I could part the soil easier. How could a soil be so luring to take me in its arms, be so gentle with my pain.

There was a silent rain, but it burned my skin so easily. It made me touch my lifeless dog, still without heat—then I thought to myself, better she's not here anymore, she hates the rain anyways—and so did I. Forced to pick myself up to start sinking these iron edges into the ground, cleaving the earth with soft gentle stabs. Then humour sparked.

𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮—

but I was right with the soil, the tears helped with it. Thank god; who wants to dig a hard soil for a grave on a random Friday? Only the worms. But I'm not a worm, am I? I am just a girl, who before was just a child with a living sweet little dog. It's funny how I make myself smile while the tears escape my eyes. And now the rain falls with literal burns. For a terrifying second, the soil feels good, too good to be my bed for a tomorrow I wouldn't have to face.

And from there I lifted her little body, took a deep look at her face, she was the same as the day I met her. Only the white fur covering his black nose was almost unfamiliar, I did not notice she was that far off the calendar. I took one more look, the last one, the last one in this lifetime. I'm never touching that short brown fur, those weird ears, those paws; never seeing her eyes nor her tail wags, never hearing her barks every time I'm back home. A farewell I wish I had the courage to tell myself too. But amidst the burning rain, I am alive; therefore the soil cannot take what is not its to keep.

And when my dog died, a part of me came with her in that soil. But even parts are from a whole. I cannot go where she will, though I'll let the earth claim my fragments to sleep beside my loyal friend.

She taught me life for the last time, that life is there simply for us to live it with our bare hope to see what lies ahead. Only death is inevitable, but none of us are going to live forever, so let there be peace. Let there be tomorrow.
