Grade 12 students across various academic tracks—namely Home Economics, Crop Science, and Animal Science—participated in a specialized safety and preparedness training conducted by the Philippine Red Cross, Nueva Ecija Chapter, on February 6, 2026, at the Young Farmer's Hall.

The session was facilitated by Alex Sheldon F. Galapon, R.N., and Mr. Rey L. Banasia. Participants engaged in a detailed discussion regarding the fundamentals of first aid and received hands-on instruction in wound management and various knot-tying techniques.

By mastering these essential skills, students are better equipped for their upcoming two-week immersion deployment scheduled for March 16–27.

I wish I were kind.

Life is tough, indeed.
They say, everyone's battling quietly
and many do not have it easy.
If that is true, how lucky and rare are people that remain kind.

Pages scatter across the floor,
each holding an unfinished thought.
Dirty clothes cling to chairs,
coffee stains the table.
The room is a mess and so is the mind of a student who wakes up not to live, but to survive.

Tired is an understatement.
Each sunrise arrives with fear
Each nights tucks me with hope
Maybe tomorrow will be kinder than yesterday
Maybe it will ask for less of me.

Tasks gathered like dust,
Eating feels like a reward,
And sleep became a crime.
Somewhere in between,
I realize—I wish I were kind.

Kind enough to let myself rest,
to loosen the grip,
to pause without guilt.
I wish I were kind to the person within me.

I wish I were as kind to myself as I am to others.
I wish I worried for my own hunger,
my own sleepless nights,
the way I ache when I know someone else has gone without those.

How lucky are those people who are kind to themselves
Because here I am, still learning how.
Silently whispering,
I wish I were kind too.

Grade 12 Technical Vocational Livelihood (TVL) students of CLSU Laboratory for Teaching and Learning - Agricultural Science and Technology School (CLTL-ASTS) majoring in Animal Science, Crop Science, and Home Economics braced for real-world deployment after completing a pre-departure orientation on February 13, preparing them for a 10-day work immersion.

The orientation strengthened students’ professional discipline and workplace awareness as resource speaker Rochelle Ann V. Pararuan from the Office of Student Affairs underscored the importance of strong work ethics, emphasizing that responsibility, adaptability, and integrity shape long-term career success.

Meanwhile, Atty. Jay Villafria Jr. delivered a lecture through a video presentation, reinforcing awareness on constitutional provisions on gender equality and the Safe Spaces Act, which protects individuals against gender-based harassment in schools, workplaces, and public spaces.

Moreover, students will be deployed to partner establishments based on their specialization: Animal Science learners to the Philippine Carabao Center-CLSU (PCC-CLSU) and Small Ruminant Center (SRC), Home Economics students to Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, San Jose City, and Crop Science participants to the Ramon Magsaysay Center for Agricultural Resources and Environment Studies (RMCARES).

This induction emphasized the institution’s commitment to preparing students for real-world industry demands, marking a significant step as learners transition from classroom instruction to professional workplace experience.

After over six decades Dr. Floro R. Gutierrez, a BS Agricultural Extension Education graduate was commenced as the professor of the day, January 6, at the College of Education Teacher's Hall Amphitheater, as part of the Grand Alumni Homecoming, spearheaded by the Central Luzon State University International Alumni Association, Inc. (CLSUIAAI).

Dr. Gutierrez, in his testimonial lecture, shared that although his original dream was to pursue medicine at the University of the Philippines, he took his bachelor's degree at CLSU, due to financial constraints, which then led him to a faculty position at the institution, and eventually became the first graduate of the C2 Scholarship and earned numerous awards both national and international.

Although content with his profession, Dr. Gutierrez candidly shared that if given another chance, he would still choose medicine, saying that we should "never give up on your dreams," and pursue as long as we can.

Moreover, three selected students from Grade 11 and one Grade 12 were granted scholarships funded by CLSU International Alumni Association, Inc. Member Sponsored Scholarship Program (CLSUIAA-MSSP).

Also, respective students from Grade 10 to 12 received USD 200 each under the Adopt Your Own School (AYOS) program while other candidates who underwent interview for the said scholarship also received a 1000-peso incentive.

The scholarships were a commitment of the CLSUIAAI members to the students as well as a symbol of giving back to their alma mater and mentioned that they will continue this program until the succeeding years.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Muddy fields and rows of rice seedlings set the scene as CLTL-ASTS students took to the fields for the annual Taniman Festival through two days of rice planting activities, Jan. 6–7.

All grade levels participated in the fieldwork, with planting areas designated per grade to keep the activity organized, while faculty members guided and monitored students throughout the process.

The coordinated effort allowed the planting to be completed within two days, ahead of the festival’s original three-day schedule.

With the fieldwork concluded early, the third day was designated as a rest day, capping off this year’s Taniman Festival that once again placed agricultural practice at the center of student learning.

𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗜 | 𝗞𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴

See Memories from 10 years years ago.”
