"Better to leave them at their best than be left at your worst.”
Because at least, when you walk away while they’re at the peak of their success, no one can say you abandoned them when they were down. No one can point fingers and accuse you of being there only for the good times and leaving when life got tough.
Instead, you leave them while they’re still shining, still strong, and still winning. You part ways with dignity, without guilt, without being blamed for “using” them or for not being supportive.
On the other hand, if you stay until their downfall and choose to leave then, people will only remember you as someone who turned your back when they needed you the most—even if that’s not the truth.
Sometimes walking away at their highest point is not about giving up; it’s about protecting your own peace, and letting them keep their pride too. Because love isn’t just about staying—it’s also knowing when leaving is kinder than being left.
