ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA,
INTERCEDE FOR US THIS TUESDAY
As we enter this Tuesday, we turn with confidence to Anthony of Padua, one of the Church’s most beloved saints, known for his powerful preaching, deep wisdom, and compassionate heart. Though he lived many centuries ago, his presence continues to be felt by countless faithful who seek his intercession in times of need.
St. Anthony is often called the “Wonder Worker,” not only because of the miracles attributed to him during his life, but also because of the many prayers answered through his intercession even today. He is especially known as the patron saint of lost things—but beyond material losses, he helps us recover what is far more important: lost faith, lost hope, and even a sense of purpose when life feels uncertain.
This Tuesday, his intercession reminds us that we are never alone in our journey. In the middle of our daily struggles—whether they are burdens at work, worries in our family, or silent battles within our hearts—God provides companions in the saints. St. Anthony stands as a gentle guide, encouraging us to trust more deeply in God’s providence.
His life teaches us the value of humility and simplicity. Though he was a brilliant preacher and deeply learned, he never sought recognition for himself. Instead, he pointed everything back to Christ. In the same way, we are invited today to live not for our own glory, but to reflect God’s love in our actions—through kindness, patience, and generosity to others.
As we pray for his intercession, we also ask for the grace to become more attentive to God’s voice. Sometimes, what we “lose” in life is not something physical, but our awareness of God’s presence. St. Anthony helps us rediscover that awareness—to see God even in ordinary moments, and to trust that He is working quietly in our lives.
May this Tuesday be filled with renewed hope. Through the prayers of St. Anthony, may we find what we are searching for, receive strength for our struggles, and grow in faith each day. And as we move forward, may we carry with us the reminder that God’s grace is always near, ready to restore, guide, and transform us.
St. Anthony of Padua, pray for us.
