The CTHBM-SC Halalan 2026 has officially concluded with a new set of Student Council Officers elected for Academic Year 2026โ2027. Most of those elected are incoming Level III BSBA-Financial Management students who showed strong determination and commitment to serving the student body, highlighting the programโs leading presence in the council.
Kurt Olleres, a former CTHBM-SC Assistant Financial Officer, secured the position of Governor after garnering a total votes of 1,433, marking a shift from a supporting role to the councilโs highest position. Olleres described his win as overwhelming but also expressed gratitude for being given another opportunity to serve and lead the students. Even before his candidacy, he said that he already had clear plans for the council, particularly in strengthening its visibility and engagement with the student body, โone of my priorities is to make the Student Council more active and visible through programs and events that will benefit the student body. I also want to build a better working environment and strengthen the collaboration within CTHBM,โ he said. Importantly, he promised to be one hundred percent committed to serving the CTHBM community with integrity, transparency, and accountability, together with his newly elected officers.
Further, Romel Bitara, a former CTHBM-SC, BSBA-FM Board Member was elected Vice-Governor for Internal Affairs after receiving 1,395 votes. Running unopposed, Bitara called the victory as both an honor and a growing responsibility. He acknowledged that transitioning from only representing the BSBA-FM program to serving the entire college carries greater expectations and accountability. In addition, he plans to implement Project Silyab, a leadership training initiative aimed at developing future student leaders within CTHBM. โOur goal is to develop great leaders not just for this upcoming academic year, but for the future, ensuring that CTHBM will always be in good hands,โ he said. Through this initiative, he hopes that leadership and service continue to grow within the college.
Meanwhile, Monica Abing, who is currently the Executive Secretary of the JFINEX-CSPC Chapter won the same position with the total votes of 1,354. From her experience in JFINEX-CSPC Chapter, Abing said the skills and values she developed through the organization will help her fulfill her responsibilities as Executive Secretary. She emphasized that leadership is rooted in service rather than recognition. โI am not here just for the title, credentials, or personal gain, but because I have a sincere heart to truly serve the student body,โ she said. She also added that, with her commitment to continuous growth, she aims to make her term productive, meaningful, and beneficial for the student body.
Moreover, Exequiel Paraguison, another JFINEX-CSPC Chapter officer and the current Chief Operations Officer for External Affairs, secured the Executive Financial Officer position with 1,305 votes. For Paraguison, leadership comes with the responsibility of maintaining the trust of the students. As he takes on the role of Executive Financial Officer, he plans to prioritize transparency in the councilโs financial management and decision-making processes. โI want to assure every student that each peso from their membership fees will be handled with integrity, accountability, and purpose,โ he said. Notably, through his proposed FinRePost initiative, he seeks to make financial reports more accessible to students and promote clear and direct reporting in the use of council resources.
Completing the set of officers from the BSBA-FM program, Joana Herrera was elected Auditor after earning 1,364 votes. Herrera admitted that she was initially hesitant about taking on a major leadership role, but eventually saw it as an opportunity for personal growth and meaningful service to the student body. โI questioned whether I was truly ready to take on such a big responsibility, but I see it as a chance to grow, step up, and genuinely serve the students and the organization,โ she said. As Auditor, she plans to focus on strengthening financial discipline within the council by promoting organized documentation, timely liquidation, and proper submission of financial records to ensure transparency and accountability. Ultimately, she hopes to contribute to a council that CTHBM students can trust and rely on.
All newly elected officers for A.Y 2026-2027 ran under the Buklod Party slate, which secured all positions in the CTHBM-SC Halalan 2026.
