Sometimes it’s really hard to speak up or share your opinion with others. You’re never quite sure how they’ll take it, even if, for you, it was simply advice meant for their own good. But if they end up taking it negatively, just remind yourself that their reaction is not something you deserve so don’t take it to heart.

It’s like offering someone a gift. If they don’t like it and instead complain about it, you’d feel like taking it back, right? But what matters more is that you gave it sincerely. Whether or not they appreciated it, that’s not your burden to carry anymore.

So don’t dwell on it too much. Just remember this next time maybe it’s better not to offer anything if it’s only going to affect your peace. And whatever reaction they give you, don’t absorb it, especially if you know you don’t deserve it.

That’s the reality of life not everything and everyone is worth your time and energy. Focus instead on the things that are truly good and meaningful.
