Every last Monday of August, the Philippines celebrates National Heroes Day. It is a time to honor the bravery, sacrifice, and love for the country shown by Filipinos who fought for our freedom.

This special day is not only about famous heroes like Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio. It is also for the many unnamed heroes of history, as well as modern-day heroes such as teachers, overseas Filipino workers, and community volunteers who help make the country better.

National Heroes Day reminds us to value courage, unity, and selflessness. By showing these qualities in our daily lives, we can continue the dream of building a free and progressive Philippines, just like what our heroes hoped for.

The Office of the Vice President for Administration and Auxiliary Services released Memorandum No. 12-2025 that states that the University shall once again serve as the Local Testing Center for the 2025 Bar Examination scheduled for September 7, 10, and 14, 2025. In line with this, the University Campus shall be off-limits to all except those authorized by the Supreme Court from September 5 to 14, 2025.

Today, we remember our former 𝑺𝒆𝒏. 𝑩𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒐 ‘𝑵𝒊𝒏𝒐𝒚’ 𝑨𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒐 𝑱𝒓..—a man whose life was dedicated to the Filipino people, and whose death sparked the flames of democracy. He reminds us that heroism is not just found in history books but in the choices we make every day. His story teaches us the power of courage in the face of oppression and the importance of standing up for what is right. Like Ninoy, we are called to value freedom, justice, and service to others. May his legacy inspire us to use our voices, our actions, and our knowledge to serve the nation.

𝑺𝑩𝑨 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑶𝑹𝑺𝑬𝑴 2025: 𝑺𝒆𝒆𝒌. 𝑩𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆. 𝑨𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆. ✨

On August 7, 2025, the University of Nueva Caceres opened its doors to a new generation of business and accountancy students during the 𝗦𝗕𝗔 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 (𝗢𝗥𝗦𝗘𝗠) held at the UNC Sports Palace. With the theme “𝙎𝙚𝙚𝙠, 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚, 𝘼𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚: 𝘼 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙐𝙣𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙨,” the School of Business and Accountancy (SBA) officially welcomed its first-year students through a meaningful and inspiring program designed to guide them as they begin their academic journey. The event introduced freshmen to the college environment, academic expectations, and the supportive community that awaits them.

The day opened with warm remarks and an energizing intermission performance, followed by a segment that presented SBA’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values, showcasing the foundation for their growth and success at UNC. One of the core parts of the program was the discussion of academic and departmental policies, giving students a clear understanding of expectations and responsibilities. A motivational message from the Dean emphasized the importance of excellence and integrity in the field of business and accountancy. The students also listened to the EIE Seminar, which gave insights into real-world applications of their studies through the use of English proficiency. Faculty members, academic and non-academic organizations, and SBA Student Success Coaches were introduced to help students recognize the support system available to them.

The University Student Government (USG) presented their upcoming plans and activities, encouraging involvement in campus life. A special intermission and the singing of the UNC Hymn added to the memorable experience, followed by a photo opportunity with all SBA students and staff. More than just an introduction to college life, the SBA Orientation was a meaningful start to a new chapter—one where students are encouraged to seek their purpose, believe in their abilities, and achieve their goals through the values and excellence that UNC stands for.

𝘼 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧:𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩

To celebrate the excellence and achievement of the new licensed Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) who successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountant from 2023 to May 2025, the UNC Chapter of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) conducted a testimonial dinner, which was held at Sundaze Dormitel last July 18. This event serves as an avenue to gather the UNC administration, SBA Faculty, students and guests to honor and celebrate the success of the passers and to acknowledge their diligence and perseverance. The event featured inspiring speeches from the SBA administrator and selected passers who have shared their experiences in their CPALE journey, emphasising the difficulties, sacrifices, and support that got them through.

Before the event ended, the program head of Accountancy, Ma'am Cerila Sanchez, delivered a closing remark to honor the new passer and to show her heartfelt gratitude to the administration for their unwavering support and to the JPIA officers who made the event possible. As the event concluded, the evening was filled with applause, laughter and pride. This successful event is not just a celebration of academic and professional success, but it served as a tribute to the countless study hours, sacrifices, and unwavering perseverance that led each new CPA to this moment.
