Corvera, a marine biologist who discussed various species of fauna and flora endemic to the island of Palawan. She then further elaborated on the classifications of species in relation to their population status.

Through this program, the purpose, mission, and vision of NMP were promoted to the STEM students of SFJC. This event served as an important way to raise awareness about valuing our rich heritage.

Javierians Unite in Laudato Si' Recoleta Clean-up drive

A commitment to a greener future and responsible stewardship of God's creation has motivated Javierians to take part and unite in Laudato Si' Recoleta clean-up drive Tuesday morning, February 25, 2025 at San Francisco Javier College campus.

Teachers and students from kindergarten to college gathered in the quadrangle to participate in the opening ceremony of the said activity.

The ceremony included an opening message from Mrs. Nica B. Vargas, ARSC & Activity Coordinator, and a brief talk from Mrs. Maricel C. Gacott, Academic Coordinator, who explained the purpose of conducting the event. Moreover, Mr. Michael Bryan Biong announced the designated locations for each grade level.

Javierians worked together to help maintain a clean and green campus with some sweeping, others picking up trash, and others weeding.

Therefore, the event concluded with inspiring reflections as representatives from each grade level shared their general thoughts and experiences, aligning with the SFJC core values: Service-Oriented, Friendly, Joyful, and Christ-Centered.

In light of this, Laudato Si' is a Latin phrase meaning "Praise be," which is a call by Pope Francis to care for Planet Earth, subtitled "on care for our common home." It serves as a letter to address global issues and encourage people to shape the Earth's future through their daily actions and decisions. Laudato Si Recoleta is the response to the call of Pope Francis to take care of our common home through Augustinian Recollect way.
