The Movers Academy basketball teams competed in the APPS District Meet held on September 9โ10, 2026, at the Panpacific University Tayug Campus, earning victories and valuable experience across different categories.
On September 9, the Movers boysโ basketball team opened their campaign with a 76โ39 victory over Divine Grace. They continued their winning run in their second game, defeating ICCS, 61โ47, to advance to the semifinals.
In an interview, Andrei A. Mallo expressed his expectations for their next match, saying, โI expect tomorrowโs game is mas aggressive ang kalaban. Lahat, magandang depensa, magandang opensa; maganda ang laro namin. Lahat kami maghahanda para bukas at mas pressured kasi maraming manonood. And I expect tomorrow na manalo kami.โ
The team then faced QTVSI in the semifinals on September 10. Despite their efforts, Movers fell short, 47โ60, ending their campaign in the round. Nevertheless, the team gained valuable experience from the competitive match.
Meanwhile, the Movers girlsโ basketball team faced PU on the first day of the competition and secured a 6โ3 victory. They then battled QMA in the finals, where they finished with a 6โ15 loss. Despite the result, the team secured a spot in the APPS Division Meet.
Also on September 9, the Movers High School 3v3 team secured a 16โ6 victory over JILCS. They later faced PU in a closely contested game but fell short, 16โ18.
In the elementary 3v3 category, Movers Academy faced St. Patrick Catholic School on September 10. The team fought hard throughout the match but finished with a 4โ6 score.
With their performances across the competition, the Movers basketball teams represented the academy with teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance throughout the APPS District Meet.
