Naval Mayor Hon. Gretchen Stephanie M. Espina has ordered the suspension of work and classes throughout Naval today, July 16, 2025, due to severe weather conditions affecting the province.

In its bulletin issued at 5:34 AM today, PAGASA reported that Biliran Province is currently experiencing moderate to heavy rainshowers accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

The state weather bureau warns that these conditions may persist for the next one to two hours and could potentially affect nearby areas.

Residents are urged to take immediate precautionary measures. The significant rainfall poses a risk of flash floods in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous terrain. The public is strongly advised to remain indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and secure their properties against strong winds.
