Yesterday, Angat Kabuhayan conducted a wellness seminar in Navotas City, Philippines, focused on the mental and physical health of the youth. This event wasn’t just about sharing knowledge; it was about opening minds to realities they hadn’t considered before.

Key Moments:

🌟 First Encounters with Stigmas: 67% of the participants said it was their first time hearing about issues like depression, HIV, and the damaging effects of stigma.

🌟 The Power of Social Media: 80% of the participants admitted they often fell victim to fake news, unaware of the importance of fact-checking and researching to discover the truth.

I introduced them to Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, a timeless metaphor that challenges them to look beyond the shadows and question the reality they see.

I urged them to not just accept what they see at face value, especially in our digital age where misinformation is rampant. It’s vital to dig deeper, research, and seek the truth.

Let’s continue to educate and empower our youth to challenge the status quo and take control of their narratives. The future depends on their ability to see the world with clear eyes and a discerning mind. ✊
