May rare wildlife sighting sa Leyte, besh.

A leucistic Philippine duck was documented for the first time at Lake Malagsum in Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park, Burauen, Leyte, during a regular biodiversity patrol.

Leucism is a rare condition that reduces pigmentation, kaya unusually pale ang feathers ng duck—pero hindi ito kapareho ng albinism.

Mas special pa ang sighting dahil ang Philippine duck is endemic to the country and is classified as vulnerable. Para sa park authorities, dagdag itong proof na mahalagang safe habitat ang protected area para sa threatened and unique wildlife.

The Sandiganbayan Third Division has ordered former House Speaker Martin Romualdez transferred to the Philippine General Hospital on Sept. 12 for an independent evaluation of his medical condition.

Ayon kay Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, nakapagsagawa na ang Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory ng Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center ng 7 angioplasty at 56 angiogram sa loob ng unang taon nito—at zero ang binayaran ng mga pasyente.

Pinakahuli rito ang isang 70-year-old resident ng San Andres na sumailalim sa ikapitong successful angioplasty. Ayon kay Moreno, puwedeng umabot sa humigit-kumulang ₱800,000 hanggang ₱1.5 million ang ganitong procedure sa private hospital.

“Sa ating ospital, zero. Literal na zero,” ani Moreno.

Giit niya, layunin ng lungsod na gawing mas accessible ang critical heart care para hindi kailangang matakot ang ordinaryong pamilya sa laki ng gastos.

Moreno also thanked the OMMC medical team and Manila taxpayers, saying public funds are being returned through essential services.

The Sandiganbayan 3rd Division has signed a commitment order directing that Romualdez be detained at the New Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory in Payatas.

Pero hindi pa siya lilipat agad. Ayon sa mga ulat, mananatili muna siya sa ospital dahil sa kanyang medical condition, habang BJMP na ang mangunguna sa pagbabantay sa kanya.

More than 450 Filipino athletes are set to compete in 38 sports at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with the country looking to beat its 2023 haul of four golds, two silvers, and 12 bronzes.
