The Committee on Women, Family, Gender, and Development held a consultation meeting to align our legislative goals with the actual needs of solo parents in Ocampo.

As Chairperson of the Committee on Women, Family, Gender and Development, I was invited to attend "Strengthening VAW Desk Operations and GBV Governance Workshop" held last June 15โ€“16, 2026, at the Villa Caceres Hotel.

This two-day workshop organized by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) was attended by the Punong Barangays and VAW desk representatives from all barangays of Ocampo. It focused on leveling up our barangay VAW desks, sharpening response protocols, and fostering gender-responsive local governance. By strengthening our local response systems, we move closer to reducing gender-based violence and creating safer, more inclusive spaces for everyone in our municipality.

Thank you, ADRA Philippines and DILG, for your unwavering partnership and shared advocacy in empowering our leaders.
