[πˆπ‚π˜πŒπˆ] Josephian's Got Talent 2026 shines with skill, heart, and heritage at SJCOI’s 78th Founding Anniversary

As the 78th Founding Anniversary saga continues, the much-awaited Josephian’s Got Talent 2026 filled the air with cheers, elegance, and overflowing talent on March 17 at the Senior High School Grounds.

β€œHigit pa sa pagpapakita ng talento, maipapakita rin ang larawan ng isang Josephian na may husay sa gawa, bait sa kapwa, at buti sa lahat.” SJC-SHS Principal Dr. Julius Cesar De Vera proudly opened the event by reflecting on the values that St. Joseph the Worker has instilled in the institution. He emphasized how, just like Joseph is to Mary and Jesus, he and the school continue to be a guiding figure to the students’ journey.

After that, the Homeroom Faculty Council (HFC) enthusiastically announced the winners of their raffleβ€” including 20 winners of Php 500, 1 winner of Php 3 000, 1 winner of Php 5 000, and 1 winner of the grand prize, Php 10 000.

Subsequently, the esteemed panel of judges for the competitions were also introduced: Ms. Rheinne Camat, Ms. Zoe Margaret Tantay, Councilor Eyrma Yvette β€œTet” Marzan-Estrella, and Mr. Derick Tagipen.

To further hype the crowd, two Josephian dance groups battled it out at the Josephian’s Got Talent: Baile Competition, showing teamwork, energy, and power as they dance through beats that sparked through the audience’s hearts. SaVIstro captivated the crowd with their sleek moves, entrancing energy, and their knack for witty techniques. While, 10/10 allured the audience with their suave moves, mesmerizing passion, and varying intensities that created a dynamic contrast.

In the end, saVIStroβ€” composed of Anica Laya, Quiara Leynes, Chris Justine Guevan, Princess Flor Napoles, Chris Yvan Ebilane, and Brehnan Kyle Almojeraβ€” were hailed as the Champions of Josephian’s Got Talent: Baile Competition.

Captivating vocals also shone at the event as the Singing Competition portion of the event showcased five heartfelt performances from Josephians students. Lyka Espiritu soulfully sung β€œBanal na A*o, Santong Kabayo” by Yano. This was followed by Yazhmine Castillo’s heartfelt rendition of β€œNosi Balasi” by Sampaguita. Thereafter, Clair Maravilla blissfully charmed the audience with her version of β€œTorete” by Moonstar88. Princess Rain Deseo and Princess Loren Murillio, a duo from St. Alphonsus Liguori, also showed great skills with their performance of β€œIsa Pang Araw” by Sarah Geronimo. While, Jairus Lumio serenaded the audience with β€œCan’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis Presley.

The competition ended with Clair Maravilla bringing home the Champion title, besting the 4 other contestants with her swoon-worthy performance. This was followed with Lyka Espiritu claiming the 1st runner up title and Yazhmine Castillo earning 2nd runner up. While, Jairus Lumio secured the title of 3rd runner up with the duo of Princess Rain Deseo and Princess Loren Murillio taking 4th runner up.

Moreover, three Josephian bands rocked their way through the night as each participant performed their sets, composed of three songs rendered to their skills, impressing not just the judges but the audience as well. Amnesia started the category strong with β€œAlipin ng Pag-ibig” by December Avenue, β€œKamikazee” by Martyr Nyebera, and β€œShot through the heart” by Bon Jovi. Red Note continued the rhythm as they perform their set with β€œTatsulok” by Bamboo, β€œAmakabogera” by Maymay Entrata, and β€œBulag, P**i, at Bingi” by Aegis. While, Project X took the stage with confidence, delivering a tight and dynamic setβ€” composed of β€œRolling in the Deep” by Adele, β€œDati” by Sam Concepcion, Tipoy Dos Santos, and Quest, and β€œKapangyarihan” by Ben&Ben and SB19.

Ultimately, Project Xβ€” consisting of Dylan Matthew V. Autor, Prince John N. Lee, Rei Alexander Petilo, Jaze Niguelson A. Gomez, Jean Jybrayle A. Hezeta, and Charmaine Jhayne A. Miradorβ€” secured the Champion title. While, Red note took 1st runner up and Amnesia followed for 2nd runner up.

[𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍] Dionsay competes in PBO SINAG 2026 Semi-Finals

As the quest for the Philippine Biology Olympiad 2026: SINAG continues, 55 Semi-finalists from all over the Philippines competed on March 21, 2026 at the Ateneo De Manila University in Quezon City, Philippines.

The Philippine Biology Olympiad is an annual event held by the university’s Department of Biology and the Ateneo Biological Organization. It serves as the venue for the selection of the country’s participants in the International Biology Olympiad also held annually.

To represent St. Joseph College- Olongapo Inc., Allan James Dionsay from the Senior High School Department fiercely competed against the Top 55 for a spot in the Top 20 finalists. Pouring in hard work, he and his coach, Ms. Herlyn Joy Manglicmotβ€” assisted by STEM Coordinator, Ms. Kriscel Evert Manabatβ€” trained at the university from March 16-19 along with the other participants. β€œBeing the first Josephian to step into the semi-final stage in the Philippine Biology Olympiad is an honor but I also felt pressured knowing that I’m representing not just the school but also the entire region. Stepping into the intricate brick architectural buildings in Ateneo for the on-site training gave me a glimpse of the other side of the academic world dominated by biological systems,” he said.

Dionsay made an impressive mark in the competition after advancing to the semifinals. Through dedication and hard work, he demonstrated remarkable skill throughout the competition. When asked about the challenges, he cited one. β€œThough it was quite stimulating, I'd say that it was certainly also quite lonely, especially since even at the 1st day, there were already well established friend groups, notably toward those that were recurring participants and students from the various Philippine Science High Schools in the country.”

Although Dionsay did not move on to the finals, his journey in the competition remained as a remarkable feat for himself and the institution. His perseverance and commitment continues to be rightfully acclaimed beyond the event as the experience marked a significant milestone in his academic and personal growth. β€œAll-in-all, it was an interesting experience and hopefully there will be more semi-finalists from St. Joseph in the coming years,” he ended the interview with hope.

The school community celebrates this achievement and looks forward to even greater success in the future.

[𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓] Francis Caringal Triumphs in Saint Joseph Look-a-like Competition

Francis Caringal from 12- St. John Paul II was recognized as the champion of the Saint Joseph look-a-like competition during its announcement of winners on March 19, 2026, at St. Joseph Parish Churchβ€”in celebration and honor of the institution's patron saint.

Caringal emerged as the contender with the most likelihood to Joseph with a score of 95.80%. This is followed up by Keiji Magrata as the first runner-up with 93.80%, Nicko Dongon as second runner-up with 93.75%, Rain Alonzo as third runner-up with 90.90%, Izzy Funato as fourth runner-up with 89.90%, and Jharmael Salvador as fifth runner-up with 65.35%. The awards were handed out to the winners by Rev Fr. Renato Roque Villanueva and Mr. Harrold Ambuyoc.

The competition was previously held last March 6, in which delegates from participating sections competed with each other across three categories: banner, essay, and QnA. The participant with the overall highest score would be declared the winner.

In a brief interview, Caringal expressed his gratitude and shared his experience during the competition: "Masaya at saka grateful kasi nagbunga 'yong pag-aaral (ko) tungkol sa buhay ni San Jose. Pero noong pinaka-competition, 'yong mga kalaban ko, ang dami nilang sagot kaya nararamdaman ko yung kaba. Siyempre ginawa (ko) pa rin yung best (ko), and ayon, mabuti, salamat sa Diyos nagbunga naman siya."

This event served as meaningful tribute to St. Joseph, showcasing both the contender's talents and understanding of his story and values.
