Last October 24, 2025, the Halloween season kicked off with a flurry of excitement as our lower-grade students went room-to-room trick-or-treating through the high school halls. Each classroom was filled with laughter, creativity, and the joyful exchange of sweet treats. Our high school students, serving as generous hosts, welcomed the younger Angelites with open hearts, becoming part of the wonderful memories made that day.

But beyond the candies and costumes, the event captured the true spirit of the Angelite community, a connection that exceeds age and grade level. The laughter and joy shared throughout the day linked the gap between students, uniting everyone in one memorable celebration of fun, friendship, and Halloween cheer.

The Red Cross recently held an orientation that highlighted the importance of health awareness, emergency response, and life-saving skills. The program began with a prayer led by Cedric Paulino, followed by Sir Chris Allen Pineda, who delivered the opening remarks. He warmly welcomed everyone and explained the significance of the session.

Afterwards, the representatives explained their purpose for being there: to educate students on the vital role of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and to equip them with basic knowledge on health and safety. Maโ€™am Jana then gave an introduction about the Red Cross, its mission, and the services it offers to communities across the country.

They played a video presentation focusing on cardiac emergencies. The video explained the functions of the blood and circulatory system, the location and role of the heart, and what happens when it does not work effectively due to conditions like heart attack and cardiac arrest. It also discussed the differences between heart attack and cardiac arrest, their signs and symptoms, and the importance of first aid management. The orientation focused on explaining and demonstrating Hands-On CPR, one of the first aid responses that can save lives while waiting for the ambulance or medical professionals. A demonstration was provided to show how this technique can be performed properly and effectively.

Overall, the Red Cross orientation reminded everyone that saving a life is possible if people are equipped with the right knowledge and skills. By learning how to respond in emergencies, we can all become everyday heroes in our own communities.

SDO Olongapo Strengthens School Paper Advisers Through Capacity-Building Workshop

Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Olongapo City โ€” More than a hundred campus journalism mentors convened for a three-day workshop spearheaded by the Schools Division Office of Olongapo City, aimed at honing the technical expertise and teaching strategies of school paper advisers (SPAs) in their pursuit of journalism excellence.

With the theme โ€œPressing Forward: A Journey Towards Journalism Excellence,โ€ the Division Orientation and Capacity Building for School Paper Advisers was held on August 13โ€“15, 2025, at Travelerโ€™s Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

The program emphasized the Department of Educationโ€™s commitment to nurturing 21st-century skills among learners through effective campus journalism. Through lectures, workshops, and collaborative sessions, SPAs were equipped with strategies to guide student journalists in producing relevant, ethical, and competitive campus publications.

Highlighting the eventโ€™s success, the school paper advisers of The Angelites and Bagwisang Pluma were recognized for producing one of the best outputs during the writeshop session. Their achievement showcased the dedication of Olongapoโ€™s educators in upholding quality journalism in schools.

The final day of the LASC Sportsfest ended with the awarding ceremony, where the overall winners were officially announced. After days of intense matches, Blue Siren secured third place, Red Centaur earned second place.

Yellow Phoenix rose to the top and were crowned overall champions, finishing the week-long tournament in both physical and mental events.

This year's Sportfest has officially come to an end, highlighting the teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination of all teams.

The Womenโ€™s Basketball Championship took place in Filtration Court on September 8, flooding with cheers and burning with determination.

The grit, talent and teamwork of the Yellow Phoenix showed the whole crowd what determination, teamwork and hearts of a true champion looks like. From great passings to good and powerful shooting, but the Red Centaur didnโ€™t let their guard down as they show the passion and determination of not giving up.

The first quarter of the match, the Red Centaur started good as Andrea Paras shoots a point for the team as her teammate Bhella Fernandez continued not letting the star player of the Yellow Phoenix shoot a point as she rebounds the ball. As these two keep their game play, their teammates showed great defense as they tied up the score until the second quarter.

But the Yellow Phoenix made a comeback in the third quarter until the final quarter
as the Yellow Phoenix subs Rozjel Dimalibot as she shoodt a point for the team and continued scoring alongside Manilyn Torres with unstoppable scoring and Paulie Roxas as she dominated in defense.

The court was heated and the players was furious as the final whistle blows. The Yellow Phoenix crowd went wild as they packed the gold. From underdogs to Champions.

Last September 4, the championship match between the Yellow Phoenix and the Red Centaur took place. It was a slow start for both teams with only scoring through service errors and misreceives, but the Yellow Phoenix started to gain their momentum when their team captainโ€”Paulie Roxas, went to the service line and continued to score points for their team. With the yellow phoenix winning the first set 21-15 against the Red Centaurs.

By default, with also their teamwork and determination to win, the Yellow Phoenix clinched the championship title against the Red Centaurs with a score of 1-0 in sets.

In the middle of the match it was light and full of laughter as the Red Centaur gave Lester Granada a chance to make a point for the Blue Siren, on the other hand Red Centaur subs in Cllyde Ignacio facing off with Blue Sirenโ€™s JC Lequin but Ignacio scored a point for the Team!
