Every year, the cycle repeats.
A child enters Grade 1 unable to read or write โ and without hesitation, the blame is thrown at one person: the kindergarten teacher.
โAnong ginawa ng teacher niya sa Kinder?โ
โSayang lang ang isang taon.โ
โWalang natutunan!โ
Those statements alone are enough to crush the heart of a dedicated kindergarten teacher who pours her time, voice, patience, and even her personal money just to give children their best start in school.
They blame her as if the childโs entire readiness rests solely on her shoulders โ never mind the childโs maturity level, home environment, parental involvement, or the system that overcrowds the classroom.
Letโs set the record straight. Kinder is not just about ABCs and 123s. Itโs about laying the foundation โ socially, emotionally, mentally โ for everything that comes after. The Kinder teacher doesnโt just teach sounds and letters; she teaches how to sit still, how to listen, how to express needs, how to share, how to follow rules, how to be a student. And that, in itself, is monumental.
Kinder teaching is not for the weak. It takes the heart of a mother, the energy of a performer, the patience of a saint, and the mind of a strategist. The results may not always be instant or ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐, but they are ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น.
So the next time someone says, โ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ ๐ป๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ,โ Ask them this: ๐ช๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ผ ๐๐ผ๐ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ธ ๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐?
Itโs time we stop underestimating the very people who build the foundation of our childrenโs future.
