Tropical Storm Nando has slightly intensified, PAGASA reported Friday.

📍 Location: 1,075 km east of Central Luzon (as of 4 AM)
🌬 Winds: 75 kph (max sustained), gusts up to 90 kph
⚠️ No cyclone signals hoisted

🔹 Nando is unlikely to affect weather in the next 48 hours but may enhance the southwest monsoon starting Saturday.
🔹 Expect strong to gale-force gusts in Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas.
🔹 Moderate to rough seas in Luzon’s coastal waters from Sunday.
🔹 Possible close approach or landfall over Babuyan Islands early next week.
🔹 Forecast exit from PAR: Tuesday (PM).

Depression "NANDO" was estimated based on all available
data at 1,225 km east of southeastern Luzon with maximum
sustained winds of 55km/hr. it is moving North to
northwestward at 15km/hr. Southwest Monsoon affecting
Southern Luzon and the western section of the Visayas.

🌬️ Weather Update | September 18, 2025 🌬️

Strong winds continue to prevail in areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 due to Tropical Depression (TD) Mirasol, PAGASA said Thursday.

📍 As of 4 a.m., Mirasol was located 165 km west of Calayan, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gusts of up to 70 kph.

⚠️ Signal No. 1 areas:
Batanes, Babuyan Islands
Cagayan (western portion)
Apayao
Abra (northern portion)
Ilocos Norte
Ilocos Sur (northern portion)

🌊 The southwest monsoon will also bring strong to gale-force winds across:
La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Tarlac, Pampanga, Benguet, Mimaropa, Quezon, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas.

🌊 Sea conditions:

Moderate seas in the eastern seaboard of mainland Cagayan
Seaboards of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur
Western seaboard of Pangasinan

🚤 Mariners of motorized bancas and small vessels are advised to take precautionary measures.

🔹 Mirasol is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) today.

Meanwhile, a separate tropical depression outside PAR has been named Nando, located 1,225 km east of southeastern Luzon as of 4 a.m. It packs maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gusts of up to 70 kph, but is unlikely to affect Philippine weather in the next 48 hours. However, PAGASA said it may enhance the southwest monsoon over the weekend.

Gisusi sa NBI-8 ang 6 ka mga flood control projects sa Eastern Samar.

Ang NBI-Eastern Visayas nag-imbestigar sa unom ka flood control ug usa ka rock netting project sa Eastern Samar ubos sa DPWH, nunot sa hangyo ni House Minority Leader Rep.

Marcelino Libanan. Ang imbestigasyon nagtumong sa pagtino kung ang mga proyekto mga ghost project, gibiyaan, o gitukod gamit ang substandard nga mga materyales.

Wala pay mga lokasyon o timeline nga nakumpirma. Ang mga resulta isumite sa NBI Central Office alang sa posibleng pagpasaka sa mga reklamong kriminal.

Ang una nga mga taho nag-ingon nga ang mga proyekto nalambigit sa construction firm sa pamilyang Discaya. Wala’y komento si DPWH Regional Director Edgar Tabacon.

Ang kagamhanang probinsiyal sa Northern Samar nagtukod ug ₱8.5-million Credit Surety Fund (CSF) aron matabangan ang micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) ug kooperatiba nga maka-access sa mga pautang sa bangko bisan pa sa kakuwang sa collateral o credit history. Ang pondo gisuportahan sa mga kontribusyon gikan sa kagamhanang probinsiyal (₱3M), Land Bank of the Philippines (₱3M), ug walo ka lokal nga kooperatiba (₱2.5M).

Gipangulohan ni Gobernador Harris Ongchuan ang pagpirma sa kasabutan niadtong Sept. 15 uban sa Land Bank ug mga opisyal sa kooperatiba.
