To the version of you I once called a friend—
I release you now.
I release the confusion, the inconsistency, and the moments I felt small next to your sweetness toward others.
I release the silence, the subtle digs, and the neglect dressed as indifference.
I no longer carry the weight of wanting your approval, or questioning why I wasn’t enough for you to treat me kindly.
You were part of my story—but you no longer get to control how it continues.
I don’t hate you. I just don’t hold on anymore.
Goodbye—to the grip, not the memory.
