Drug Den sa Tangub City: Upat Nadakpan sa Buy-Bust Operation sa PDEA ug Kapulisan

Tangub City, Misamis Occidental – Malampusong nasikop sa mga operatiba sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Misamis Occidental ug Tangub City Police Station ang usa ka giilang drug den ug nadakpan ang upat ka mga persona sa gihimong buy-bust operation sa Purok 2, Barangay 3, Tangub City, sa kaadlawon sa Sabado, Hulyo 26, 2025.

Ang operasyon nga gipahigayon pasado alas 12:26 sa kaadlawon gipangulohan ni IA V Elvis M. Taghoy Jr. sa PDEA ug ni PMAJ Ghuniel Halapit Cañete, Team Leader sa City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) sa Tangub CPS. Nadakpan ang mga suspetsado samtang nagahimo sa ilang ilegal nga kalihukan, hinungdan sa pagkumpiska sa ilegal nga droga ug drug paraphernalia sulod sa giilang drug den.

Gidakop sa maong operasyon mao sila:
• Novem Lascoña Tagbacaula, 30 anyos, walay trabaho, residente sa Purok 2, Brgy. 3, Tangub City;
• John Ryan Gamos Silada, 26 anyos, stockman, residente sa Isidro D. Tan, Tangub City;
• Kilven Karl Entero Batoon, 24 anyos, Job Order employee sa Tangub City Water District, residente sa Brgy. 3, Tangub City;
• Joseph Mark Gamos Silada, 33 anyos, walay trabaho, residente sa Purok 4, Isidro D. Tan, Tangub City.

Nakuha sa operasyon ang mosunod:
• Usa (1) ka sachet nga adunay sulod nga giilang shabu gibug-aton og 0.05 gram, nga gigamit isip buy-bust item;
• Baynte-dos (22) ka assorted sachets sa giilang shabu nga gibug-aton og kapin-kulang 9.5 grams;
• Total nga gibug-aton: 10 grams
• Gibanabana nga street value: Php 25,000
• Standard value: Php 68,000

Apil usab sa nakumpiska mao ang daghang drug paraphernalia ug mga butang nga dili droga, sama sa:
• Glass pipe
• Improvised tooters
• Foil strips
• Mga lighter
• Mga cellphone
• Ignition keys
• Bamboo sealer
• Improvised torch
• Gunting
• Aluminum foil
• Duha (2) ka motorsiklo (Honda Wave plate no. 7178KH ug Yamaha Mio plate no. 229KCX)
• Usa (1) ka tinuod nga ₱500 nga kwarta nga adunay serial number AM7168384 nga gigamit isip marked money sa buy-bust.

Ang mga suspetsado atubang karon og daghang kaso ilawom sa Republic Act No. 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, lakip na ang:
• Section 5 – Pagbaligya sa illegal nga droga
• Section 6 – Pagdumala og drug den
• Section 7 – Pagtambong sa drug den isip empleyado o bisita
• Section 11 – Pagpanag-iya sa illegal nga droga
• Section 12 – Pagpanag-iya sa paraphernalia
• Section 15 – Paggamit sa dangerous drugs

Gisiguro sa PDEA ug Tangub Police nga luwas ug accounted ang tanang operatiba pagkahuman sa operasyon. Ang mga nadakpan gitipigan karon sa kustodiya samtang naghulat sa pormal nga pagsaka sa mga kasong kriminal.

BAG-ONG AMBULANSYA NAGPALIG-ON SA EMERGENCY RESPONSE SA OZAMIZ CITY

OZAMIZ CITY, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL — Mas napalig-on pa karon ang kapasidad sa Ozamiz City sa pag-atubang sa mga emerhensyang medikal human pormal nga nadawat sa lokal nga panggamhanan ang usa ka bag-ong ambulansya gikan sa Bureau of Fire Protection Region 10 (BFP-10).

Ang ceremonial turnover gipahigayon sa Misamis Occidental diin personal nga mitambong si Ozamiz City Mayor Sam Norman G. Fuentes uban si BFP-10 Regional Director FCSUPT Romel Tradio ug si Misamis Occidental Governor Henry S. Oaminal. Ang maong ambulansya gikatakdang gamiton sa mga medical emergency responses, lakip na sa mga aksidente sa kalsada, kalit nga panghitabo sa barangay, ug uban pang kahimtang nga nagkinahanglan ug dali nga pagresponde.

Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental — Usa ka lig-on nga hulagway sa panaghiusa ang mitungha sa lalawigan sa Misamis Occidental human ang tanang lider sa Asenso Misamis Occidental — gikan sa probinsyal nga panggamhanan hangtod sa mga lokal nga opisyales — misalmot sa usa ka naghiusang panumpa sa serbisyo publiko.

Nanguna sa maong seremonya si Governor Henry S. Oaminal, kauban nila Vice Governor Rowena Gutierrez, 1st District Congressman Jason P. OPINYON | Prime Water Ozamiz: Walay Klarong Serbisyo Sakit sa Ulo

Water is a basic human right. It is not a privilege. And yet, here in Ozamiz City, it often feels like a privilege to have running water — thanks to the dismal performance of Prime Water Ozamiz.

Let’s not sugarcoat this: your service is poor, inconsistent, and downright frustrating. Ang tubig nga ginabayran matag bulan, kalit lang nga mawagtang, walay advisory, walay klarong explanation. Pagmata sa buntag — way tubig. Pag-uli sa trabaho — way tubig. Hapit na lang tanan oras sa adlaw, kinahanglan pa mi mangimbestiga kung asa napadung ang serbisyo.

Prime Water, you are not a cooperative like MOELCI-II. You are a privatized for-profit entity, earning millions from Ozamiznons. Kung naa moy kasing-kasing, ipakita nga ang inyong kita walay pulos kung ang serbisyo way klaro. You claim to be investing in infrastructure, yet pipelines still leak, pressure is laughable, and entire barangays go for hours — even days — without water.

This is unacceptable. This is not just inefficiency — this is a slap in the face of every household, every business, every student, every senior citizen nga nagsalig sa tubig para sa ilang adlaw-adlaw nga panginabuhi.

If you can’t handle the infrastructure, then say it. If maintenance is beyond your capacity, then step aside. Ayaw ninyo himoang joke ang inyong trabaho. Ang tubig dili pwede malangan. This is not just about inconvenience — this is about health, sanitation, and dignity. Ang mga bata nanginahanglan maligo. Ang mga ginikanan manglaba. Ang mga pasyente sa hospital kinahanglan ug limpyo nga tubig. Di ni dapat debatehan pa.

You issue advisories when it’s too late. You use technical terms that don’t explain anything. Ug inyo pa gyud gamiton nga linya nga “we apologize for the inconvenience.” That is not enough. Your apology does not refill our water containers. Your apology cannot wash dishes. Your apology does not represent accountability.

Let’s be brutally honest here: you owe us more than apologies. You owe us better service, clearer communication, and real action. Your business depends on our money, and we demand results.

You once said, “We are being monitored.” Good. Because yes, we are watching. And we are angry. And yes, we will remember, every single day nga wala’y tubig. Every time we fetch from a neighbor, every time we’re late for work because of your failure.

We are not unreasonable. All we ask is that you do your job. Fix the leaks. Improve your pressure. Inform us properly. Provide the most basic thing you were paid to deliver — reliable water.

Tubig lang ni. Dili ni rocket science. So what’s the excuse?

Prime Water Ozamiz, paminaw mo. The people of this city deserve more than incompetence. The city is growing, and your service should grow with it. Ayaw ninyo pugsa nga moabot ang punto nga ang katawhan mangayo ug accountability in more serious ways.

Improve. Now.

OPINYON | MOELCI-II’s Php15.4M Payment: Maayo, Pero Dili Pa Suficiente

Let’s not sugarcoat it — ang pagbayad sa Misamis Occidental II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MOELCI-II) sa dugay na kaayong Php15.4 million nga utang ngadto sa City Government of Ozamiz is a long overdue act. It is a welcome move, yes — pero dili kini ang katapusan sa istorya.

This is not a trophy. This is a receipt. MOELCI-II paid an obligation nga ilang dugay na unta gibayran. That’s not a grand achievement. That’s a bare minimum of what accountability should look like.

Yes, we recognize the efforts of the current MOELCI-II leadership. Hats off to Board President Mayeth Romero Sy, Vice President Pempe Deguilmo, and Project Supervisor Cesar Faeldon. They did what their predecessors failed to do for years — and for that, they deserve credit.

Pero dili pasabot nga tungod bayad na ang utang, limpyo na tanan.

Kay let’s not forget, for years, MOELCI-II was the face of mismanagement: taas kaayo ang singil sa kuryente (over Php17/kWh!), poor customer service, frequent brownouts, delayed responses to complaints — ug ang trust sa publiko halos nawala.

Ang pagbayad sa Php15.4 million usa lang ka first step sa taas pa nga lakang padulong sa tinuod nga reporma.

On the other hand, klaro kaayo nga ang City Government of Ozamiz, pinaagi ni Mayor Indy Oaminal, deserves a firm round of applause. They held the line, insisted on accountability, and used their political capital to make sure nga dili lang malimtan ang obligasyon. In fact, under the Oaminal leadership — from the city to the province to Congress — giisa gyud ang sumbanan sa pagdumala og tinud-anay.

But now, the challenge shifts back to MOELCI-II.

Bayad na mo sa utang — good. Rates have gone down — maayo. But let’s talk real progress:
• Still too many power interruptions.
• Still complaints of unexplained charges.
• Still limited presence sa barangay-level customer service.

MOELCI-II, you don’t just owe money. You owe the people better service.

Be transparent with your billing. Invest in infrastructure to improve stability. Put systems in place that protect consumers, not exploit them. In short: act like a true cooperative, not a monopoly in disguise.

And to the local government — padayon sa pagpugos og accountability. This breakthrough should lead to long-term policies, MOAs, and ordinances nga makapugos sa tanang utilities nga motuman sa ilang obligasyon sa katawhan.

This Php15.4 million payment should not be the end of a problem — it should be the beginning of real change.

We, the consumers, are watching.
And this time — we will not forget.
