𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘀 | 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀

Underneath the comfort of my sheets, I secretly hum and dream of a soul that puts me to sleep. To receive letters addressed to my post, handwritten with the kind of love that even time would feel bothered to have its arms move forward—keeping us close and frozen in time.

I enjoy the silence that comes with the presence of no one but my own. Keeping me away from the deathly price of love and light. Like a deserted island on the remoteness of the vast oceans, away from storms that drown a whole town down.

But sometimes, the silence in between, yearns for a laughter from a soul that comes into scene. A product of red strings and accidents, a path paved by destiny and its silly little schemes.

Now I send signals and fireworks to the darkness of the night—hoping for someone nearby to see its light. One who can see through my lines and rhymes, and not afraid to take risks with chances and its crimes.

Dearest subject of this piece, let it be known for you and me. That the only thing that keeps us at bay, is the question we both ask ourselves; “do you feel the same way?”

I never had the courage to write my name in “From”, therefore, with this piece, may it eventually reach you with its “To”.

𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗖𝗢𝗡 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘅𝗲𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻, 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗽

With sharp wits, teamwork, and quick hands ready to raise flags, CON proudly represented the college and placed as 4th runner-up in the Battle of the Brains held earlier today at MM Audi A, testing their knowledge and critical thinking as part of the 73rd Handumanan Week.

Representing the College of Nursing with pride were Prete Ricafort (2E), Ysabelle Estrellas (4A), and Elaine Lomocso (4B).

At the end of the intense jeopardy showdown, the College of Education claimed the crown, followed by the College of Computer Studies as 1st runner-up, College of Engineering as 2nd runner-up, and College of Accountancy as 3rd runner-up.

Meanwhile, the College of Nursing, College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Tourism and Hospitality Management placed as 4th, 5th, and 6th runner-up, respectively.

This competition not only highlighted the students’ brilliance but also served as a reminder of the rich history of the University, celebrating its structure, culture, and the many traditions that continue to shape the Lasallian identity.

𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗖𝗢𝗡 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽

Soaring the HEU grounds, the Red Phoenixes showcased speed, strategy, critical thinking in solving riddles, and teamwork, claiming the championship once again during the Amazing Race held earlier today.

The proud Phoenixes who represented the College of Nursing were Rax Tan (4B), Leonard Polvorido (3D), Ken Rendolf Rojo (4A), and Paul Daniel Sioco (3F).

With heads held high and hearts on fire, the Red Phoenixes proved that being in nursing doesn't make them less capable as they spread their wings, rise stronger, and fiercely compete with pride.

CaritaScope | 𝗜 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗼𝘄𝗻…

I could still vividly remember the very first time I had to handpick the things I needed at the grocery store. The milk that gave me the tummy aches, the candy that was too expensive, and the piece of lip balm I used to sneak into the cart without my mother knowing.

I go over to the frozen section. A week’s worth of microwaved meals awaits me. Despite being fed all my life with home cooked meals, I don’t know anything about cooking at all.

The laundry section was no different either. There were stacks on stacks of powder to choose from, but I could never know what scent it was and what detergents to use because I never asked.

That’s it.
𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙨𝙠𝙚𝙙.

I took the time with the people I already lost for granted. That in every morning I wake up to, there would be home cooked meals to greet me and go to school with my uniform ironed and washed with the nostalgic scent of the detergent.

So I never asked.

I didn’t feel the need to because 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣. I couldn’t have imagined that there would be a time that at my age, that I would lose them this soon.

Now here I am, once going around the aisles of the grocery store not bothered by the defective carts that made the shopping experience worse because I wasn’t behind the wheel before, 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙥𝙪𝙨𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙤𝙬𝙣.

So the next time you go grocery shopping and complain about those old carts stuck with some kind of tape or even hair, think about it. Does this deserve my energy and my precious attention? Or should I really be sad or get upset about this simple thing?

Because somewhere down the aisle, you may never know, a person might be picking their things alone for the first time.

That in life, 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙗𝙚 𝙖 𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙖 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚. So as simple as things may appear, always be grateful—𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙥𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙥𝙪𝙨𝙝 𝙞𝙩.

𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗖𝗢𝗡 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁

Diversity and creativity were on full display during the Lasallian Got Talent event held earlier today at the Coliseum lobby, as part of the 73rd Handumanan Week celebration.

The event brought together students from seven colleges who showcased their talents in singing, dancing, tour guiding, and other creative acts that reflected their pride in their respective departments.

The College of Nursing was represented by Joriena Dote (BN1B), Andreanne Barlahan (BN2B), Vini Louise Daquipil (BN2B), Marifael Cañete (BN3D), and Jewel Olmedo (BN4D).

More than just a talent show, the event was a spirited celebration of Lasallian identity and creativity, uniting students through the theme: “Living the Lasallian Vibe".

Any food can potentially cause an allergic reaction; however, certain foods, such as shellfish, milk, eggs, peanuts, and fish, are responsible for approximately 90% of all food allergic reactions. Allergy is an abnormal immune response of the body to foreign substances that are typically harmless to some individuals. These allergens can be absorbed through the food we eat, the air we inhale, or objects we touch.

On this day, July 8, 2025, we are called to celebrate the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 in the Philippines. Let us continue to raise awareness and educate the public about the increasing impact of allergies in the country, emphasizing the importance of understanding triggers as a crucial step toward a healthier life.

The University of St. La Salle officially opened its 73rd Handumanan Week celebration with a thanksgiving mass held at the University Coliseum this July 4.

Embracing the theme "Living the Lasallian Vibe," the celebration was attended by faculty, university students, and the Batch 1975 as the Golden Jubilarians.

Furthermore, the mass was followed with the recognition of the Batch 1975 through the Honoring Rites of Golden Jubilarians.
