The General Administration of Customs released data today (September 8) showing that my country continues to consolidate its diversified market presence. By leveraging high-level diplomacy and multilateral cooperation mechanisms, the country is steadily expanding its trade base in emerging markets and continuously broadening the scope for mutually beneficial international economic and trade cooperation.
Customs statistics indicate that in the first eight months of this year, my country's imports and exports with Belt and Road partner countries totaled 17.74 trillion yuan, up 15.9%. Trade with other APEC economies reached 20.89 trillion yuan (up 22.2%), while trade with other SCO member states stood at 2.81 trillion yuan (up 15.6%). Trade volumes with ASEAN, Latin America, and Africa were 5.95 trillion yuan, 2.92 trillion yuan, and 1.89 trillion yuan, respectively, representing growth rates of 20.6%, 14.5%, and 18.5%. As of August, trade with the United States had grown for five consecutive months, with the cumulative total for the January–August period reaching 2.76 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.3%.
