ZAMPEN GEARS UP FOR DISABILITY WEEK | The Regional Committee on Disability Affairs (RCDA) conducts its 2nd quarter meeting at the Tourism Boat in Pagadian City to finalize the preparations for the upcoming National Disability Rights Week Celebration 2025 , which will take place in Zamboanga City from July 17–23, 2025.

Member agencies presents their first semester accomplishment reports, showcasing their ongoing efforts to promote the welfare of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

According to the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), the Zamboanga Peninsula registers a total of 72,306 PWDs across the region.

The DMW strongly advises all OFWs in Israel and Iran to:
-Stay indoors and remain alert;
-Keep in touch with the nearest Philippine Embassy or MWO;
-Avoid sharing or spreading unverified news or information to prevent panic.

The Department, in close coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Department of National Defense (DND), continues to monitor the situation and is prepared to take necessary action for the safety and welfare of our OFWs.

SHARPENING FIREFIGHTERS' COMMUNICATION SKILLS | Around 130 Public Information Officers (PIO) from the Bureau of Fire Protection in the region gain skills in photojournalism, basic news writing, and photo captioning during its capacity-building activity.

The training, conducted both onsite and online in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency, aims to enhance the participants' skills to further strengthen their work in public information and communication.
