You can never tell youโre prepared enough until itโs done. I almost declared DNF(did not finish) coz at kilometer 20, my left leg is already cramping. Even if I declare DNF, no one would rescue me since Im at the wilderness of the trail so I had to rest my leg for couple of minutes na lang to slightly recover. The trail was so long kaayo, that trail was mostly uphill approximately 60% of the trail.
Whats most challenging is that we started at 5PM so we had to run the rest of the night. Katulgon na kaayo, 9PM na, still ascending. 12mindnight na still running. 2am na, the same activity. Until its dawn, the beauty of the trail made the run more more exciting. One thing, we need to be at KM49 before 17hrs cut off time, so I had to hurry up again but I made it 30mins advance before 17hrs but sadly, more than half of the participants declared out of the race but SUPER PROUD KAAYO KO SA ILAHA, GRABE KASTRONG SA ILAHANG MINDSET. KM49 is grabe kaayo. After checking in at KM49(10AM), where we had our dropped bag, naka-change clothes na ug shoes para kumbati for the next final distances na lang. Sakit na kaayo ang tiil, but still managed to conquer so many peaks pa rin. To cut the story short, after almost 25hrs in the wild from Sept 27 at 5PM, I crossed the finish line on Sept 28 at 5:55PM.
SUPER KAPOY but super worth it.
Life is like trail running, no matter how hard the trials we face along the way, you just have to keep pushing.
Sta. Cruz Trail Runners thank you sa experience.
