On the first Friday of October, the school community gathered in solemn reverence for the monthly Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Julius D. Socorro, SCJ. His homily centered on deepening faith and carrying Christโ€™s message of love into our daily lives, especially as we enter the month of the Holy Rosary. Students and faculty joined in prayer, offering thanksgiving and petitions for guidance in their studies and personal journeys. The celebration served not only as a spiritual renewal but also as a reminder of the importance of unity and devotion within the campus community.

Saint Columban College (SCC) marked a historic milestone as it proudly produced its first-ever batch of Registered Psychometricians (RPms), posting an impressive 80% passing rate in the September 2025 Board Licensure Examination for Psychologists and Psychometricians (BLEPP).

The pioneering passers of College of Teacher Education, Arts, and Sciences (CTEAS) include Rexel D. Cabatu-an, RPm, Francisca Angelika P. Relano, RPm, Jilmee D. Rodrigo, RPm, and Jessa V. Alfanta, RPm, who brought pride and honor to the institution by successfully clearing the national exam administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

The pioneering group of psychology graduates established SCC as a strong contender among schools offering psychology programs in the region.

The newly licensed RPms are now equipped to contribute to the fields of psychological assessment, research, human resources, guidance and counseling, and other allied professions.

Their accomplishment also highlights the growing relevance of mental health services in the Philippines, where skilled psychometricians are in high demand.

The SCC community joined in celebrating this feat, recognizing it as a milestone that not only brings honor to the school but also strengthens its vision of producing globally competitive graduates.

Held to celebrate the creativity, sportsmanship, and talent of the College of Teacher Education, Arts, and Sciences (CTEAS), Hugyaw 2025 officially kicked off on October 1, 2025 at the Youth Development Center (YDC) and will run until October 3, bringing together faculty and students in a three-day celebration.

With the theme โ€œHugyaw 2025: Panaghiusa ug Pag-ampo uban ni San Francisco de Assisi," Hugyaw 2025 serves as a platform for showcasing excellence in literature, music, dance, and athletics, highlighting the diverse skills and artistry of the CTEAS community.

Four mighty houses will vie for victory in this yearโ€™s competitions: Taga Kalakal (JSWAP and Societas), Taga Disyerto (Polisays, The Mentors, and TLPES), Taga Patag (PSYMS and Socialyte), and Taga Laot (EWE and Scimatrix). Each house is expected to bring forward its unique strengths and traditions as they compete across various categories.

Beyond rivalry, Hugyaw 2025 strengthens bonds between faculty and students while celebrating the collegeโ€™s vibrant culture.

Throughout the three-day celebration, participants will engage in performances, contests, and athletic events that will not only decide the top-performing house but also celebrate the spirit of unity within the CTEAS community.
