PCES Book Character Costume Parade kicks off despite LP forecast

The Pagsanghan Central Elementary School (PCES) opened its Book Week celebration with the Book Character Costume Parade on November 24, 2025, attended by pupils and teachers. The activity was managed by the Teacher-Librarian Designate, Mrs. Jennifer S. Rosales, under the instruction of the School Principal, Mrs. Maria Teresa E. Donadillo.

Commenting on the event, Mrs. Jennifer S. Rosales said, "Books are very important secondary sources of information. They are not time bounded and they can be used anytime and today, I love watching them bring their favorite book characters to life through their costumes."

Originally set at the covered pathway, the parade was shortened due to the approaching rain and later transferred to the school library, ensuring the celebration could continue safely.

Pupils from different grade levels came dressed as their favorite storybook characters, showing off their creativity, imagination, and love for reading.

As part of the celebration, the Top 3 Best in Book Character Costume were selected. The winners received certificates and prizes, recognizing their effort and creativity.

Parents and visitors witnessed the children confidently present their costumes, taking photos and cheering them on.

Despite the unexpected weather, the parade was launched PCES’ Book Week activities, highlighting the school’s strong commitment to literacy, imagination, and learning.
