Classes in Junior High School and Senior High School RESUME tomorrow, October 6, 2025 (Monday) in Maravilla National High School.

Similarly, students and teachers are expected to conduct one Psychosocial Support activity per day for at least one week before starting morning classes. This mandate ensures that students receive the necessary support to continue their educational development and foster resilience in the face of adversity. Furthermore, this activity connects to the observance of the National Mental Health Week 2025.

We are wishing for the recovery of everyone. See you all tomorrow.

The Office of the Provincial Governor of Masbate has officially declared the suspension of classes at all levels for both PUBLIC and PRIVATE SCHOOLS from September 29 to October 4, 2025.

All teaching and non-teaching personnel are directed to report to their respective schools to assess classroom conditions and carry out the necessary preparations for the resumption of classes next week.

This is in line with the goal of ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, as most of the classrooms and school facilities have been damaged by Typhoon Opong.

Similarly, we encourage our stakeholders to join us as we prepare for the recovery of the entire campus. Your cooperation in making your student’s learning space comfortable is welcomed and appreciated.

Together, let us make our way to recovery, safe, successful, and meaningful.

As per information from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, classes in all PUBLIC SCHOOLS in the entire Municipality of Palanas are suspended on September 29-October 1, 2025 (Monday-Wednesday), this is to give way to the scheduled restoration and clearing operations inside the school vicinity. Though classes are suspended, everyone (including students) is enjoined to participate in the “Pagbabayanihan sa Pagpapanumbalik ng Kampus”, all stakeholders of the school are encouraged to join us in the restoration of our respective classrooms and the whole school.

LOOK | This is the aftermath of Typhoon Opong in two campuses of Maravilla National High School and in some parts of Barangay Maravilla, Municipality of Palanas, Province of Masbate.

As seen, the trusses of the newly constructed yet substandard building on the SHS campus fell to the whirlpool-like wind, putting the safety and security of the students and staff in jeopardy. In the JHS campus, the mango tree beside the administration building found its way to the adjacent Grade 10-Perseverance classroom, leaving enough reason to continue with the clearing operations a week after.

Meanwhile, in the community, the same struggle has also been recorded: fallen and uprooted trees, leaving houses without any roof, and putting people in a catastrophic state. Furthermore, as of the time of this posting, the restoration of electricity remains incomplete. This is just a challenge for all Maravillans and Palanasnons.

Let’s continue praying for the immediate recovery of everyone.
