Over a hundred stakeholders trooped to Cabatuan National High School (CNHS) for the first General Parent-Teacher Association (GPTA) Assembly last July 18, 2026, 7:30 a.m., at the school ground, with GPTA election and student performance update topping the list of agenda.

The program opened with a prayer followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. The assembly then proceeded with the nomination and election of the GPTA officers for the school year.

Mr. Aikel Pajaroja was elected GPTA president after receiving 42 votes. Mrs. Ruby Ferreras was declared vice president by default. Mrs. Liliosa Plandiano won the secretary position with 33 votes, while Mrs. Riza Acibar was elected treasurer with 50 votes. Mrs. Ligaya Montibon secured the auditor position with 41 votes, and Mr. Paternino Sabalza Jr. became the public information officer (PIO) by default. Mrs. Mary Rose Cristo was elected business manager with 31 votes.

For the protocol officers, Mrs. Paulatina Plandiano received 35 votes, while Mr. Arthur Getalado garnered 34 votes. The elected Board of Directors included Mrs. Maileen Ferreras, Mrs. Lucy Giray, Mrs. Hilda Globio, Mrs. Marisa Cristo, Mrs. Marites Acquiat, Mr. David Caparal, and Mr. Cherie Tendoy.

Following the election, the newly elected GPTA President Aikel Pajaroja thanked the parents and teachers for their trust and support. He emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in achieving the school's goals.

Thereafter, Ms. Jennifer Laoreno presented the financial statement, including the report on the funds raised during the Alumni Homecoming. She said the proceeds were used to purchase long tables and monoblock chairs for the Senior High School Department.

During his closing remarks, CNHS school head, Mr. Deems Evan Mengulo, thanked the parents, teachers, alumni, and GPTA officers for their continued support. He also informed the assembly about the upcoming regional PTA election and reminded everyone that, under DepEd Order No. 13, s. 2009, a GPTA president who has completed a one-year term is no longer eligible to run for the same position in the succeeding year.

The assembly also approved the โ‚ฑ50.00 PTA contribution for the current school year and discussed the participation of the CNHS Band and Lyre in the Vesper Day celebration in Palapag, including the preparation of costumes and other needed materials.

The assembly concluded with a renewed commitment from the newly elected officers, school officials, parents, and teachers to work together in strengthening programs and projects that will benefit the learners of Cabatuan National High School.

The Rock, the official student publication of Cabatuan National High School, held its three-day qualifying examination from June 30, 2026 to July 2, 2026, actively participated in by aspiring campus journalists, with Sir Stefano Acquiat serving as exam head along with the senior writers.

Out of 41 aspirants across four categories, only 21 students qualified to join the editorial board for School Year 2026โ€“2027.

Day one highlighted the skills of news writing, conducted at exactly 4 oโ€™clock in the afternoon. Day two was focused on TV broadcasting, testing news delivery and editing skills, while day three showcased creativity in photojournalism and cartooning. On Friday, the results were formally announced, revealing the successful qualifiers.

The Rock proudly welcomes the 21 new members to its editorial board. Congratulations to all passers as they begin their journey in campus journalism, upholding truth, fairness, and excellence in student publication.

Cabatuan National High School (CNHS), in partnership with the Cabatuan National High School Alumni Association (CNHSAA), net โ‚ฑ125,990.00 during the Alumni Homecoming 2026 held on June 13, 2026, at the school quadrangle, as graduates from various batches reunited for an evening of fellowship and support for the school.

Highlighting the event was the Search for Most Popular Alumnus and Alumna where the representative from Batch 2010, Mr. Gino Balicuas and Ms. Lizzel Lipata emerged as the winners of the said popularity contest. John Clowie Mejos and Erica Mejos of Batch 2013 were named 1st Runners-up, while John Vincent Plandiano and Karla Acibar of Batch 2024 placed as 2nd Runners-up.

The celebration also featured the keynote address by Mr. Wirlo Paolo C. Espineda, a Mathematics teacher in the United States and a member of Batch 2013. This was followed by the recognition of alumni batches, fundraising activities, and fellowship night.

The fund which was raised through donations, the Kuratcha, and the Search for Mr. and Ms. Alumnus and Alumna 2026 will support the school and alumni association's future projects and activities, reflecting the continued generosity and commitment of CNHS alumni to their alma mater.

Thereafter, parents, officials, guests, and teachers watched a tribute video highlighting the remarkable five-year journey of Mrs. Flora Alican as the principal of Cabatuan National High School.

The event was filled with heartfelt emotions as teachers expressed their gratitude through farewell messages, emphasizing that both challenges and disagreements had a contribution to their personal and professional growth. In her message, Mrs. Marivic Taringting said, "This is just a farewell, not a goodbye."

After Mrs. Alican's farewell message, the Palapag I District Head, Mrs. Cecilia Doria, introduced the new school head by reading a Division Order. Mr. Deems Evan T. Mengullo, in his speech, acknowledged Mrs. Alican, the parents, guests, officials and teachers for their support and presence. He concluded his message by informing the parents about the school's improved three-term curriculum.
