Angeles City- The Department of Communication, under the College of Arts and Sciences, together with the 1st year AB Communication students, staged a photo exhibit of the AB Communication program of the Angeles University Foundation. Themed as "Framed Truth: Capturing Stories, Communicating Realities," the exhibit showcases the students' exquisite skills and mastery over photography, while also addressing some of the social and political issues today.
Anchored under the subject, Visual Media and Narratives, the students utilized various photographic techniques to bring their concepts to life. Carefully selected subjects and locations were captured to create images that provoke thoughts on social issues. The exhibition was thoughtfully arranged to guide viewers on a journey of reflection, awareness, and admiration for the beauty of the local community.
Jarrele Dizon, the exhibit head of the first year AB Communication students, expressed pride in her classmates' achievements and in successfully organizing the event within a limited time.
"This exhibit was a success thanks to my blockmates and team leaders. We took photos during Holy Week, compiled them, and prepared everything in just one week. Although we started without a specific theme, we focused on social issues, and the aesthetics connected our work. Each of us contributed two photos for Open Photography and Photojournalism," said Jarrele.
Dizon further emphasized the significance of teamwork and collaboration in preparing students for their careers in communication and media.
The exhibit started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the inspirational message of the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Marlon DL Suba, and the welcome remarks of the Program Chair of the Department of Communication, Assistant Professor Cristina Reyes. The whole day event was well attended by the different faculty members and students from different colleges.
