1 Peter 1:8-9
Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

In this passage of Scripture, Peter is discussing the present enjoyment of our salvation - Christ taken by faith. Even though we have never seen Jesus with our physical eyes, we love Him.
I was sharing Christ with an unbeliever one time and she said to me, “If I could actually see Jesus I would believe in Him.”
My response to her was, “Do you believe in the wind?” She of course said ‘yes’. I told her that no one had ever actually seen the wind, only the effects of it. She had to admit it was true. Well, I see the effects of Jesus in my heart and life so that there can be no doubt that He is real!

When we trust in Christ by faith even though we have not seen Him, we enter into the blessedness in which Jesus Himself mentioned to Thomas in John 20:29 “Blessed are they who have not seen and yet believe.”
We receive a blessing for believing in Christ, having seen Him only with our eyes of faith.

Trusting in Christ fills us with an “inexpressible and glorious joy”,
yes indeed it does! As children of God, our joy is not dependent on our circumstances in life. Our happiness may be dependent on our circumstances, but never our joy, that is deep seated in us by God Himself, no one can separate that joy from us. We have uninterrupted and eternal contact with the fountain of all pure joy!
Mac Donald writes, “It is no more possible to rob a child of God of his joy than it is to unseat Christ from His place in glory. The two stand together.”
So very true!

The end result of this faith in Christ Jesus is the salvation of our souls. The minute we received Christ by faith our souls were saved for eternity.
Romans 10:13
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
John 10:28
(Jesus said) “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will take them out of My hand.”

It is so very comforting to know that no one can ever steal my salvation from me, it was God given and He has said that it is eternal, God never lies (Numbers 23:19)!

Thank You Father God for sending Jesus to bleed and die for my sins. Thank You for giving me eternal life that is received through simple child-like faith in Christ, and thank You most especially for loving me! I love You so Abba and give You all glory and honor this day, Amen.

Matthew 13:22
(Jesus said) “The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.”

The thorn infested ground represents people who hear the Word of God in a superficial way. They seem outwardly to be genuine Christians, but in a matter of time that interest is choked out by the cares of this world and the great desire for riches. There is no “fruit” for God in their lives. The temporal issues of this world and the greed for money, power, or possessions has become their God.

I have seen this happen to so many people in life! They hear the gospel, even claim that they believe in Christ and desire to live for Him, and then as time goes by they care less and less about Jesus and eternal matters and start focusing on the things of this world. Their thoughts, time, and actions are not on Christ!
Matthew 7:21
(Jesus said) “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.”

When salvation actually occurs in an individual a change takes place:
2 Corinthians 5:17
If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come, the old is gone, the new is here!

As the Holy Spirit takes up residence in a persons heart at salvation, desires and focuses change to that of Christ and doing His will in our lives. Yes, we will still temporarily get caught up in this world and sin at times, but at some point we come back to our true Lord and Savior and purpose to live for Him alone.

Lord help us to keep our spiritual eyes on Christ and His will for us and to be aware of the devil and his schemes to get our focus off of Jesus and onto this evil world in which we live.
1 John 4:4
…..the One who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

My precious Lord Jesus, thank You for opening my eyes to the truth of You so many years ago! I desire to live for and please You all the days of my life. Forgive me when I sin and get distracted by this world and worry needlessly about things that You have already taken care of. Thank You for loving me and for caring for my every need each day, I love You so my Prince of Peace and my King of Kings, Amen!
