📍Hayahay Treehouse Bar & Viewdeck, Dumaguete City
My Dumaguete City trips honestly don’t feel complete without a stop at Hayahay Treehouse Bar & Viewdeck 🤎🌴
It’s one of the most well-known party places in Dumaguete City, but for me, it’s also one of those comfort food stops I keep coming back to whenever I’m in town. Hayahay is part bar, part seafood restaurant, and every visit somehow turns into a full feast 😅
And if there’s one thing I can never skip here, it’s their baked talaba / baked oysters 🦪😭
I’ve been ordering this for years, and while I still enjoy it, I have to be honest that the quality isn’t quite the same as how I remember it from before. Still good, still worth ordering, but not as memorable as it used to be for me.
Here’s what we had during this visit:
🦀 Chili Garlic Crab – ₱1,425 for 750 grams
10/10. Totally worth it for me. This was easily one of the highlights of the meal—flavorful, satisfying, and the kind of seafood dish that makes you want to keep going back for more.
🦪 Baked Talaba / Baked Oysters – ₱225 per serving
7/10. Still one of my Hayahay staples and still good for sharing, but I personally feel like the quality has changed compared to years ago. Still part of my Dumaguete ritual though 😅
🔥 Dumaguete Express – ₱375
10/10. This is a must-eat for me whenever I’m here because it’s such a unique dish. It’s one of those plates that feels very rich, loaded, and unapologetically flavorful—may sinugba, kinilaw, malunggay, squid, crispy pork, and a whole lot of goodness all in one. It’s messy in the best way, packed with different textures and flavors, and definitely one of those dishes you have to try at least once when dining here.
🍗 Lechon Native Chicken – ₱450
8/10. A solid order if you want something classic and familiar on the table alongside the seafood.
🥭 Mango Shake – ₱135
7/10. Good and refreshing, especially with all the rich and savory food, but not necessarily the standout item of the meal for me.
Hayahay is still one of those Dumaguete spots I keep coming back to—not just because of the food, but because it has become part of my Dumaguete routine at this point. And even with some dishes changing over the years, there are still items here that I’d happily return for again and again.
I also made a full vlog of this meal, so watch out for that if you want to see how I absolutely devoured everything in these photos and more 😭🍴
