Lost in the pages of Jane Austenโs Emma again. Re-reading it now brings back heartfelt memories in school.
I remember always having this in my bag in college vis-a-vis with one of her notable books, Pride and Prejudice. Sitting right below one of the pillars of Henry Sy Sr. Hall, it was always so windy and my back kept slipping to a lying down position whenever I felt too comfy. ๐
Juggling all those with loads of school readings and paperwork from my International Law and American History classes, and Bible Study/hangout with friends after the dayโs done?? I dunno how I managed! ๐ But I did, with Godโs grace.
Iโve learned so much as a kid in college who wanted to try to do & experience everything (and still am! Hahah). Iโve become friends with so many wonderful people and Iโve crossed paths with many others. Iโm just so blessed to be given that opportunity to experience life at that age that way. I wouldnโt trade it for anything else! ๐ฅบ
Time flies so fast and looking back now, Iโd relieve my college days in a heartbeat. ๐คโณ
In the book, super sakto that this line is hitting me square in the feels: โYou must be the best judge of your own happiness.โ ๐ค
Itโs wild how relevant this truth remains, even centuries later. (Cue my profโs favorite phrase โTime Immemorialโ haha)
In our busy, often comparison-driven lives, itโs so easy to forget that genuine joy truly sprouts from within, not from external expectations or trying to fit into someone elseโs mold. Personal happiness is truly in our own hands. And it starts with being GRATEFUL for the things you already have, for the way you already are, the experiences you had, and for the blessings that are yet to come.
Sometimes you just want to ponderโWhatโs one thing that truly makes you happy, regardless of what anyone else thinks?
