The death toll from the massive fire in Tai Po’s Wang F*k Court has risen to 128, while around 200 residents are still unaccounted for, Hong Kong authorities have said

During a press conference on Friday afternoon, more than 48 hours after the blaze erupted, Secretary for Security Chris Tang said 124 people were found dead at the scene, while four were declared dead in hospital.

At least 44 people including a firefighter were killed and 279 are still missing after a ferocious blaze ravaged a housing estate in Tai Po yesterday, as scorching flames engulfed bamboo scaffolding and ripped through seven residential blocks.

Another 29 people have been hospitalised, with seven in a critical condition, Chief Executive John Lee revealed in an early morning press conference at Prince of Wales Hospital.
