CLRANHS STE Program Secures Green Light After Passing Regional Validation

PANAY, CAPIZ — The application of Commissioner Luis R. Asis National High School (CLRANHS) for the implementation of the Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) Program successfully cleared its final on-site evaluation, securing full compliance and official recommendation for approval following a rigorous institutional assessment, August 11.

The milestone event underscored the Department of Education's thrust toward expanding specialized academic tracks for regional learners. The Regional Validation Committee—composed of Dr. Mark Anthony Durana, Regional Education Program Supervisor for Science and Mathematics; Ma’am Mary Grace Jomuad, Regional Education Program Supervisor-Quality Assurance Division, Sir Andres Quiachon, Education Program Supervisor for Science and Ma’am Mary Grace Atinon, Education Program Specialist—evaluated the institutional readiness, curricular frameworks, and laboratory infrastructure of the institution.

The evaluation team was formally welcomed by Dr. Maria Bambi Billanes, Principal III, alongside the school's STE Coordinator and faculty members.

During the exit briefing, Jomuad confirmed that the CLRANHS STE framework satisfied and is compliant with all requisite administrative and technical standards, earning the panel's endorsement for official implementation and approval.

Detailing the structural significance of the offering, Mr. Andres Quiachon noted that the CLRANHS STE Program serves as an essential bridging curriculum that builds directly upon the Special Science Class (SSC) from Panay Central School, while aligning seamlessly with the school's existing Senior High School STEM track. Stressing the critical importance of widening institutional reach and bringing specialized opportunities directly to learners, Quiachon emphasized, "Let’s bring the program closer to the students."

Dr. Mark Anthony Durana commended the school administration and faculty for their progressive institutional turnaround. Drawing from ldata gathered across multiple monitoring cycles, Dr. Durana highlighted the measurable developmental strides achieved by CLRANHS in overcoming initial implementation bottlenecks. He noted that the school community demonstrated proactive responsiveness to technical feedback, translating formative evaluations into sustainable program improvements.

The successful validation clears the path for the formal authorization of the STE curriculum at CLRANHS, projected to reinforce advanced instruction in science, mathematics, and technical research for secondary learners in the division.

‎Grade 9 Red Bulls arise as the dominant force in the table tennis finals, cementing four championship titles.

The Red Bulls seized the Singles A and Singles B Girls, Doubles Boys, and Singles B Boys titles; in Singles A Boys, Grade 7 Green Jaguars placed second and Grade 11 Orange Tigers took third; in Singles B Girls, Green Jaguars grasped second, while Grade 8 Yellow Cheetahs placed third.

‎Despite the Bulls' domination, Yellow Cheetahs secured the Singles A Girls championship, followed by the Orange Tigers in second, and Red Bulls in third; Grade 10 Blue Dragons also captured the Doubles Girls title, with Green Jaguars finishing second and Red Bulls placing third.

‎In Singles B Boys, the Red Bulls again took center stage, while Grade 12 Purple Phoenix finished second place and Orange Tigers placed third— Orange Tigers also secured second place in Doubles Boys.
‎
‎With their strong performances across the event, the champions carved an opportunity to represent the school at the district meet.

Grade 11 Orange Tigers emerged as the champions of the basketball tournament during the school intramurals after defeating Phoenix, 102-65, in the semifinals and edging Blue Dragon players, 78-77, in a nail-biting match during the championship game at Poblacion Ilawod Covered Gym, Panay, Capiz, August 8.

Despite facing dramatic injuries and cramps during the championship game against Blue Dragons, the Tigers secure their victory, proving their skills, composure, and determination in a thrilling one-point battle.

The team hails as the champions of basketball for this year’s intramurals and is expected to represent the school in the upcoming District Meet 2026 this month.

PANAY, CAPIZ — Critical thinking, strategy, and deep focus took center stage among Commissioner Luis R. Asis National High School (CLRANHS) Chess players as they took on a mind blowing adventure during Intramurals 2026 at CLRANHS Main Campus, August 8.

Grade 11 Orange Tigers surfaced in the Chess Boys team rank with a score of 9, surpassing the Grade 12 Purple Phoenix's score of 8, while Purple Phoenix conquered the Chess Girls team rank with a score of 7, surpassing the Grade 10 Blue Dragon's score of 6.5.

Jose Yuki Berano (Grade 11) and John Zuriel Catalan (Grade 10) were officially declared as official players of Boys Chess; Candice Marie Erojo (Grade 11) and Jazriah Aerah Gaspalinao (Grade 12) are the official players of Girls Chess for the upcoming District Meet.

Commissioner Luis R. Asis National High School’s (CLRANHS) Intramural Meet for badminton concluded on August 10, marking the end of the matches, with the competition ending in favor of the several athletes.

‎‎Prince Adrian Dordas of Grade 11 emerged as the champion in Boys-Singles category, followed by his fellow Grade 11, Jamer Benavidez as the first-runner up, while Steven Esteban of Grade 10 and Lorenzo Jose Santos of Grade 8 shared the second-runner-up spot in the Boys-Singles badminton category.

‎Grade 10 players John Michael Sinangote and Niel Decandido secured the championship title in the Boys-Doubles, followed by Christian Dave Bolvider and Mac Raeven Erfe as the first runners-up, while Angielo Barrogo and Miguel Leechayle Baes finished as the second runners-up in the competition.

‎Moving on to the Girls’ Singles, Ashley Ann Japitana of Grade 11 was declared the champion, and Ronalyn Buenavida secured the first runner-up spot, while in the second-runners up title, Ellagen Bocala of Grade 12 and Angel Brilliantes of Grade 9 shared that same spot.

‎Shifting to the Girls’ Doubles, Jissa Buenavista and Helie Rose Da-anoy of Grade 8 rose as the victor of the match, followed by their opponent Jamaica Baydo and Jamella Delfin of Grade 11 finished as first-runners up, while the second-runners up spot belonged to Keisha Cammile Caligan and Justine Queen Ibañez of Grade 9.

‎The champions and first runners-up in the Boys’ and Girls’ Singles categories will advance to represent the school in the upcoming District Meet, while only the champions in the Boys’ and Girls’ Doubles categories will advance to the next level of competition.
