CLRANHS STE Program Secures Green Light After Passing Regional Validation
PANAY, CAPIZ — The application of Commissioner Luis R. Asis National High School (CLRANHS) for the implementation of the Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) Program successfully cleared its final on-site evaluation, securing full compliance and official recommendation for approval following a rigorous institutional assessment, August 11.
The milestone event underscored the Department of Education's thrust toward expanding specialized academic tracks for regional learners. The Regional Validation Committee—composed of Dr. Mark Anthony Durana, Regional Education Program Supervisor for Science and Mathematics; Ma’am Mary Grace Jomuad, Regional Education Program Supervisor-Quality Assurance Division, Sir Andres Quiachon, Education Program Supervisor for Science and Ma’am Mary Grace Atinon, Education Program Specialist—evaluated the institutional readiness, curricular frameworks, and laboratory infrastructure of the institution.
The evaluation team was formally welcomed by Dr. Maria Bambi Billanes, Principal III, alongside the school's STE Coordinator and faculty members.
During the exit briefing, Jomuad confirmed that the CLRANHS STE framework satisfied and is compliant with all requisite administrative and technical standards, earning the panel's endorsement for official implementation and approval.
Detailing the structural significance of the offering, Mr. Andres Quiachon noted that the CLRANHS STE Program serves as an essential bridging curriculum that builds directly upon the Special Science Class (SSC) from Panay Central School, while aligning seamlessly with the school's existing Senior High School STEM track. Stressing the critical importance of widening institutional reach and bringing specialized opportunities directly to learners, Quiachon emphasized, "Let’s bring the program closer to the students."
Dr. Mark Anthony Durana commended the school administration and faculty for their progressive institutional turnaround. Drawing from ldata gathered across multiple monitoring cycles, Dr. Durana highlighted the measurable developmental strides achieved by CLRANHS in overcoming initial implementation bottlenecks. He noted that the school community demonstrated proactive responsiveness to technical feedback, translating formative evaluations into sustainable program improvements.
The successful validation clears the path for the formal authorization of the STE curriculum at CLRANHS, projected to reinforce advanced instruction in science, mathematics, and technical research for secondary learners in the division.
