Ulan-Ulan Falls

Height & Type:
A magnificent 25-meter-high horsetail-type waterfall.

Name Origin: “Ulan-ulan” means rain in the local Visayan dialect, named for the heavy, cooling mist that surrounds the area like a gentle rain.

Known for its ice-cold, crystal-clear water and lush tropical forest surroundings.

Entrance Fee:
Around ₱20 per person.

Recoletos Falls
Location:
Situated further up along the same river, just a 5-minute walk past Ulan-Ulan Falls.

Name Origin:
Named after a San Jose de Recoletos statue tucked into a small cove beside the cascade.

Features:
Roughly 15 meters high with a deep, wide natural pool that is ideal for swimming and cliff jumping, framed by flat picnic rocks.

Environment:
Very rustic and untouched by heavy commercial development.

How to Get There

Travel Time:
Take a 30- to 40-minute motorcycle (habal-habal) or vehicle ride from the capital town of Naval to Barangay Sampao, Almeria.

The Trek:
A short walk or trek (about 5 to 15 minutes depending on your exact jump-off point) via concrete and dirt trails. Parts of the path can be slippery, so sturdy footwear is recommended.
