Several cabinet secretaries have taken heed of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.βs directive to vacate their posts.
A Palace statement said the Presidentβs call for courtesy resignation of all cabinet secretaries is βaimed at giving the President the elbow room to evaluate the performance of each department and determine who will continue to serve in line with his administrationβs recalibrated priorities.β
It also said that the decision is just in time βto realign government with the peopleβs expectations.β
With this, several cabinet secretaries have each tendered their courtesy resignation while ensuring that there will be a smooth transition of workflow as the President evaluates their resignation and eventually decides who he will retain and who he will let go.
As of 11:50 AM on Thursday, May 22, the following have already submitted their resignation:

βThis is not business as usual,β the President said. βThe people have spoken, and they expect resultsβnot politics, not excuses. We hear them, and we will act.β
βThis is not about personalitiesβitβs about performance, alignment, and urgency,β the President added. βThose who have delivered and continue to deliver will be recognized. But we cannot afford to be complacent. The time for comfort zones is over.β
This move paves the way for a more focused and performance-driven approach of the administration.
The Palace assured that while the President evaluates the resignation of
Government services will remain uninterrupted during this transition.
The Chief Executive also reiterated βthat stability, continuity, and meritocracy will guide the formation of his leadership team moving forward.ββmbmf
