HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SKIN CARE FOR YOUR SKIN?
Knowing your skin type is the first crucial step toward establishing an effective skin care routine. While everyone’s skin is different, most of our skin falls into 1 of 5 categories. Knowing which category you fall into will help you understand which products will yield the best results.
NORMAL SKIN — Your skin is characterized as normal if it’s not too oily or dry. If you have normal skin, your pores should be barely visible and you should have minimal blemishes and no sensitivities.
OILY — Skin is characterized as oily if your pores are enlarged and your skin is shiny. A trademark of oily skin is blackheads and acne.
DRY — If you have dry skin, your skin is rough and dull in complexion. You likely have dry, red patches, and your skin is especially prone to peeling and cracking. Dry skin is also less elastic, and therefore, more prone to fine lines and wrinkles.
COMBINATION — Combination skin is just that a combination of dry and oily skin. Typically, your T-zone : forehead, nose and chin will be oily and your cheeks will be dry.
SENSITIVE — Sensitive skin is a sub-category of all the four main skin types. Skin can be sensitive regardless of skin type and mostly occurs as a reaction to certain skin care products. The sign of a sensitive skin includes redness, itchiness and dryness.
☝🏼 Remember : Skincare products should be selected to match skin type and address skin condition. The condition of our skin can, however, vary greatly according to the various internal and external factors it is subjected to.
