In response to the Tsunami Advisory released by PHIVOLCS following the magnitude 8.7 undersea earthquake off Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, which may cause minor sea-level disturbances along the eastern seaboard of the Philippines. The move also aligns with the directive of the Provincial Government of DAVAO DE ORO to implement preemptive safety measures across coastal municipalities.
Residents in low-lying and coastal areas are strongly advised to move farther inland as a precaution. Boat owners in harbors, estuaries, and shallow coastal zones must secure their vessels and stay away from the waterfront.
