Born of water" is often interpreted as baptism, a symbol of cleansing and repentance.
Baptism represents the death of your old self and the beginning of your new life in Christ. It’s like saying: “I am no longer who I used to be. I now belong to JESUS.” You should be baptized only when you already understand who Jesus is, what sin is, and why you’re choosing to follow Him. It’s a personal decision — not something your parents make for you when you were still a baby.

"Born of the Spirit" refers to the inner transformation by the Holy Spirit, resulting in a new spiritual life. The old you — full of sin, worldly desires, and selfish living — is considered dead once you choose to follow Christ. It doesn’t mean you’ll become perfect right away, but it does mean you’re beginning to turn away from the things you know are not pleasing to God. The End Times is near.
