All 10 Escaped Inmates Recaptured: Swift Police Action Ends Batangas Jail Break
Batangas — The last two of the ten Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) who escaped from the Batangas Provincial Jail on July 28, 2025, have been successfully apprehended, authorities confirmed.
At around 7:30 PM on July 28, alias “Loreto” was captured in Barangay Salaban I, Ibaan through a hot pursuit operation conducted by the Ibaan Municipal Police Station with the assistance of a concerned citizen.
The final escapee, identified as alias “Gerald,” was arrested the following morning, July 29, at around 10:00 AM in Barangay Manghinao Proper, Bauan, Batangas. The joint operation included personnel from the Bauan Municipal Police Station, Ibaan MPS, the Regional Intelligence Division 4A, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Batangas.
Using intensive surveillance and drone technology to locate Gerald’s exact whereabouts, authorities executed a swift and successful arrest. He is now in the custody of the Bauan Police for proper documentation and processing.
Meanwhile, two of the previously recaptured inmates — alias “Dennis” and alias “Michael” — have been formally charged. Dennis faces violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act), while Michael is charged under Batas Pambansa Blg. 6 for possession of bladed or harmful weapons in public.
In total, all ten escapees are now back in custody, with additional charges being prepared against them for the jailbreak.
