SEN.

US, ISRAEL, IRAN AGREE TO A 2-WEEK CEASEFIRE, HORMUZ OPENS

The United States, Iran, and Israel have agreed to a two-week ceasefire to stop attacks and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. This is a step that temporarily eases the crisis in the Middle East, which has had a severe impact on the global economy and energy.

Since February 28, 2026, joint attacks by the U.S. and Israel against Iran began, causing widespread damage in Tehran and neighboring countries. According to a UN News report, the fighting expanded to Lebanon, and the price of crude oil reached 107 dollars per barrel.

On April 7 and 8, 2026, the three countries agreed to a two-week ceasefire on the condition that Iran would open the Strait of Hormuz for the safe passage of tankers. Negotiations are being held in Islamabad, Pakistan, led by regional mediators—Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan.

If the negotiations succeed: The Strait of Hormuz could be fully opened, oil prices could drop, and a more lasting peace agreement could begin. If they fail: Attacks could possibly return, the oil passage could be closed again, and the global energy crisis could worsen.

The ceasefire provides temporary relief to Filipino workers and the local economy. However, the danger remains severe for OFWs in Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the U.A.E., while government repatriation efforts continue.

The Middle East is in a stage of delicate rest—a ceasefire that could open the door to diplomacy or lead to renewed war. In the Philippines, its effect is directly felt in the price of gasoline, the lives of overseas Filipinos, and economic stability.

DARING RESCUE INSIDE IRAN, US PILOT SAVED!

A dramatic United States military operation was carried out inside Iranian territory to rescue the second pilot of an F‑15E Strike Eagle that was shot down near Isfahan, Iran. The White House confirmed that both pilots are safe, while Tehran insisted that the mission came at a heavy cost.

For two days, a U.S. Air Force colonel struggled in the mountains of Iran after ejecting from the downed F‑15E. Armed only with a pistol, he survived until a U.S. special operations rescue team arrived.

Dozens of aircraft and troops took part in the mission, which they called “one of the most daring search and rescue operations in U.S. history.”

The Pentagon stressed that there were no American casualties, and some aircraft were deliberately destroyed to prevent Iran from capturing them.

However, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed the operation was not “clean.” They announced that a U.S. C‑130 transport plane and two Black Hawk helicopters were shot down, with at least five people killed.

Other reports said U.S. forces intentionally blew up a landed aircraft to prevent Iranian scientists from examining and copying advanced technology; at the same time, they bombed roads to create craters and delay reinforcements.

TRUMP NOT IN HOSPITAL, PRESS LID DECLARED

Like wildfire, a rumor spread that U.S. President Donald Trump had been hospitalized after the White House announced a press “lid” on Saturday morning at around 11:08 a.m.

A press lid simply means that President Donald Trump would have no public appearances or statements for the entire day. In other words, the barrel of information about the President’s activities was temporarily sealed.

In times of crisis, such silence often sparks questions and suspicion.

Reports circulated on social media claiming that Trump was taken to Walter Reed Medical Center. Viral videos allegedly showed a motorcade heading to the hospital.

The White House denied the rumors, insisting that the President was merely occupied with “Executive Time.”

Coinciding with the press lid was a U.S. military operation in the Middle East, including strikes on Iranian targets, where reports mentioned the downing of two U.S. aircraft.

The President’s absence from public view since Wednesday fueled speculation. Such silence is unusual during a crisis.

What is confirmed: the press lid was real, the rumors spread, but the White House strongly denied any medical emergency.

Amid the tension of a serious war—the President’s silence itself becomes speculation that turns into news.

MAYWEATHER - PACQUIAO II : BOXING BOUT TO LEGAL BATTLE

The fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao on September 19, 2026 in Las Vegas, United States is wrapped in controversy.
Although the contract clearly states that this is a professional bout, Mayweather recently claimed it was merely an “exhibition.”
Pacquiao’s camp immediately opposed this statement, saying it was a clear violation of the agreement. The contract specifies a sanctioned professional bout, not an exhibition.
Pacquiao’s team, led by Manny Pacquiao Promotions, insisted that the fight is official and documented as part of his boxing record.
Netflix has been confirmed as the global broadcaster, relying on the credibility of the fight as a professional match.
Pacquiao’s reputation as a national symbol is at stake—an exhibition would not add to his record, while a professional bout would become part of his legacy.
This dispute could escalate into a legal battle if Mayweather insists on his version of the contract.
However, some say this is just a “diversion” meant to draw attention away from the deafening issue of war in the Middle East.
In other words, a marketing gimmick to ensure that the two world boxing icons rake in multi-million dollars.

JORDAN, SAUDI ARABIA, UAE JOIN FORCES AGAINST IRAN

After Yemen, an ally of Iran, joined the conflict, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates are now preparing to fully encircle Tehran.

Jordan has officially joined, allowing the use of the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base for U.S. operations. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are also preparing to provide active support, including basing rights, intelligence sharing, and possible deployment of their own forces.

This marks the beginning of a large-scale Gulf war against Iran.

The USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group has already arrived in the Arabian Sea, bringing additional naval strength. More than 50,000 U.S. troops are stationed in Jordan, Kuwait, and other Gulf locations.

Iran has warned it will retaliate against any Gulf nation that joins, raising the risk of missile and drone attacks on Saudi and Emirati infrastructure.

Global oil prices continue to rise, particularly affecting the Philippines, which faces the threat of a sharp decline in dollar remittances from nearly ten million overseas workers—the backbone of the national economy.

The war is expected to intensify, now seen as a Gulf States coalition against Iran, especially after U.S. President Donald Trump appeared subdued in his latest White House speech, a contrast to his previously sharp rhetoric.

In the Philippines, daily life grows increasingly difficult, yet the government denies the existence of an actual crisis staring them directly in the face.
