Being a mom —
Lalo na kapag working mom, is pure survival mode.
Every. Single. Day.
The weight that we carry everyday, which most people don’t even see, is immeasurable.
Pero ang bilis nating sisihin kapag may nangyaring mali sa kids natin.
“Kaya ganyan anak niya kasi ganto, ganyan.”
“Eh ano siguro kaya ganyan.”
“Busy kasi sa work, kaya hindi na mabigyan ng oras.”
“Buti pa yung kakilala ko ganto na yung anak niya.“
Yung mga akala nila na para bang 24/7 nila akong nakikita—lahat ng ginagawa ko para sa mga anak ko.
Eh hindi naman, diba?
Ang nakikita lang nila ay ‘yung nasa ibabaw, ‘yung maliliit na sandali—which shouldn’t be used as a basis to judge or draw all sorts of conclusions.
But you know what? I’ve learned not to waste my precious energy on them.
I deeply resonate with Mommy Janiyah sa movie Straw.
Kasi totoo — most moms don’t have anyone to rely on 24/7.
Ako mismo, wala akong village of people to help me take care of the twins.
My husband is a seafarer, so madalas wala siya physically.
But I am so grateful — dahil kahit na mahirap, my mom, the grandma of the twins, chose to be my rock.
She left her own comfort just to be with me and my twins. She sacrificed so much—
being there for my brother and grandparents,
having the freedom to do what she wants,
and spending time with her friends during occassions.
She can’t do any of those things anymore because she knows we need her more.
Even though she didn’t have to, she chose to.
No questions asked. No complaints.
And that’s what keeps me sane until this day.
Sometimes, it only takes one person—
someone who is wholeheartedly willing to be there for you—to make each day survivable.
So now, I choose to focus on what matters:
My kids.
Their happiness.
Their growth.
The quiet victories.
And the few people who are truly present —
with support, not judgment.
To all the moms out there na walang village pero never sumusuko…
To the people who show up with love —
Saludo ako sa inyo.
Here’s to the silent battles, messy wins, and our unwavering love.
We see each other. We rise together. 💪❤️
