Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano should resign as he has shown that he cannot function as the leader of the Senate anymore.

This was the joint call made by 11 Senators belonging to the minority bloc or what is now known as ‘Solid Bloc (SB) 11‘ after for the second consecutive day, Cayetano and his colleagues from the majority bloc were a no show in the supposed Senate session scheduled on Tuesday. On Monday, the majority Senators also did not attend the session while the minority Senators waited up to the night to no avail.

TENSION marred the implementation of the arrest order issued by the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division against Senator Jinggoy Estrada who is facing a case of plunder before it.

This, when Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano tried to prevent the operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) from effecting Estrada’s arrest within the Senate premises, insisting that he be allowed to accompany Estrada out of the Senate building where his arrest can be made.
